Senri Shiki

Shiki's last name is a combination of shi, meaning "to support" and ki, meaning "mallow"--a flowering plant with pink or white blossoms. The ri in Senri is a traditional Japanese unit of measure for distance, and one ri is about 2.44 miles. Senri means "1,000 RI."
