It is set in an alternate history in 1853 with new characters. Britannia's Black Ships appear in the harbor of Uraga. Some years later, Lelouch Lamperouge — brother to a young blind girl named Nunnally — is the commander of the military counterinsurgence brigade known as the Shinsengumi, formed under the orders of the Shogunate to fight the Black Revolutionaries, a rebel group led by a mysterious masked individual known as Rei. In fact, these two organizations are one and the same, and they seek to combat in influences of Britannia. Geass is the ability to call upon and summon the armored entities referred to as Knightmares; Lancelot is one such Knightmare. (Source: Wikipedia)

MAINHe is voiced by Takahiro Sakurai, while his child self is voiced by Akeno Watanabe. He is voiced by Yuri Lowenthal in the English dub, and his child self is voiced by Laura Bailey. In the 29th Anime Grand Prix, he was placed sixth with 143 votes, then 19th and 13th, respectively, in the following two.
ルルーシュ・ランペルージ
SUPPORTINGLelouch vi Britannia (ルルーシュ・ヴィ・ブリタニア Rurūshu vi Buritania) is the main protagonist of Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion and Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2 and plays a supporting role in side stories like Code Geass: Oz the Reflection and Code Geass: Lancelot & Guren. After he was exiled, he used the alias Lelouch Lamperouge (ルルーシュ・ランペルージ, Rurūshu Ranperūji). He was the Eleventh Prince of the Holy Britannian Empire and the son of the 98th Emperor of Britannia, Charles zi Britannia. He was also the leader and founder of The Black Knights and the real identity of Zero.
カレン・シュタットフェルト
SUPPORTINGKallen Kōzuki (紅月カレン Kōzuki Karen) is one of the main characters featured in Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, as well as one of the two protagonists of Code Geass: Lancelot & Guren. She is officially known as Kallen Stadtfeld (カレン・シュタットフェルト Karen Shutattoferuto), and goes by this name at school, but prefers her mother's maiden Japanese name during her revolutionary (now military) activities.

SUPPORTINGEuphemia is said to be very beautiful with pink hair that reached below her waist. It is usually styled downwards with two buns on each side of her head while she has curly bangs hanging on the right side of her face, bluish-violet eyes and she is taller than average height being slightly shorter than Lelouch vi Britannia and Suzaku Kururugi.

SUPPORTINGJeremiah is a very tall man. Prior to his presumed death during Battle of Narita, Jeremiah had blue hair and orange eyes, reason he was nicknamed Orange Boy. After his treatment or revival, most of his body was modified to a Cyborg but his physical appearance remained mostly the same, except his left eye socket. His left eye was replaced with an orange framed artificial eye which was essentially a geass canceler. In the first season, he wears a military officer's uniform with an adorned cape at the left side and a blue knightmare frame battle suit that he worn from his defeat at Narita and his left arm was entirely cybernetic until the end of the first season. In the second season, he wears an outfit similar to the knights of the Round and has an orange eye socket that holds his geass canceler. By the end of the series, he wears a farmer's outfit.

SUPPORTINGNunnally has inherited both her father's curly light brown hair (which extends to her hips) and her mother’s violet eyes. She is almost always seen with a small smile on her face, and while under Charles' Geass her eyes were constantly shut, but always appear relaxed and at ease.
