Akatsuki no Yona: Tsuki no Shita de

The daughter of Emperor Il and the Queen Kashi, Yona had a luxurious, pampered and sheltered upbringing with the exception of her mother's tragic death at the hands of rebels, but her life completely changed when she witnessed her father's murder by her beloved cousin Soo-Won, who usurped the throne to become king. She was consequently forced to flee Hiryū Castle with her childhood friend and bodyguard Hak and travel to the Wind Tribe for safety. Eventually Yona and Hak, with Son Mundok's guidance, sought out the Priest Ik-Soo, who then advised them to find the reincarnations of the Four Dragons, who founded the country 2000 years ago, to assist them in their mission. Yona, with her newfound, burning resolve to live and to protect those dear to her, traveled throughout the kingdom to find the legendary Dragon Warriors, who helped her find a new purpose and meaning in genuine friendship. Along the way, she undertook training in archery and swordsmanship with Hak. Throughout her journey, she started to realize that her father was not a king widely loved by his people due to his apparent cowardice and desire to maintain peace and avoid conflict at all costs, even if it would mean weakening their kingdom. She began to understand that Soo-Won had usurped the throne to fix Emperor Il's mistakes and to turn Kōka into a powerful nation. However, she too decided to protect her people in her father's stead and to make amends in some way in her position as the lost crown princess. Along the way, she changed from a sweet but naive girl, to a fearless and toughened warrior, while still maintaining grace, compassion and integrity.

Jae-Ha was born and raised in a village that carries the bloodline of the Green Dragon. He lived there up until he was 12 years old after he fled his village due to the mistreatment and imprisonment that he endured there. The reason for his mistreatment was that the people of Jae-Ha's village feared his power, believing that outsiders would find out about the Ryokuryū's power and bring unwanted attention to the village like invaders; therefore the villagers locked him away during his childhood. Jae-Ha tried and failed many times to escape, but every attempt was stopped by the previous Ryokuryū Garō himself who would often physically, mentally, and emotionally abuse Jae-Ha. But one day Jae-Ha finally gained all of the Green dragon abilities since Garō was slowly dying and was strong enough to escape from his village.

スウォン

Soo-Won is a tall young man with soft, delicate features. He takes after his mother Yong-Hi, while his height takes after his father, Yu-Hon. He has sea green-blue eyes and white skin. His dark blond hair extends slightly past his shoulders and is usually tied into a side ponytail using a gold ornament (initially a small ribbon in the manga). His bangs are parted down the centre, and some strands are longer and wavier than the normal cut.
