カザラギ・ジン

Jin Kazaragi (カザラギ・ジン, Kazaragi Jin), mostly commonly known as "S-Rank Prisoner" (Sランクの囚人, S Ranku no Shuujin), is an S-Rank Prisoner of Area D. He came to Area D of his own accord in order to find his brother, Rei Kazaragi.

ミカ

Mika (ミカ, Mika) is young Altered who was used as an unseen executioner aboard the Prisoner Transport Ship, forming a deep emotional bond with Jin after he was the first to treat her as human rather than a monster.

ソガ

He appears to be middle-aged (late 30s to early 50s). He has messy hair that looks like a perm. He has a thin beard. He is always seen wearing a lab coat and collar shirt and black tie underneath.v

リオ

Rio Ibuki (イブキ・リオ, Ibuki Rio) is an young altered girl working for the Area D management. Her power is Shadow Play, giving her the ability to project herself in a two dimensional realm and travel across the surface of any object. It was hinted that she had feelings for Satoru.

マリコ

Mariko (マリコ, Mariko) was taken in by Soga after being reanimated by an unknown Alter. She became his superpowered nurse who helps subdue and restrain unruly patients within Area D. Soga often worries about her since she can't feel pain or other emotions.

飯田 悟

Satoru Ida (飯田 悟, Īda Satoru) is an young man who was sent to Area D due being an Altered. His power is Watchmaker, giving him the ability to disassemble to components every item he touches. He is the main protagonist of the story.

たたら

Tatara (タタラ, Tatara) is an Altered man, who was to be send to Area D with the same ship Jin was. He posses Hundred Fang Blade, ability giving him to conjure and transform parts of his body into blades. He is also part of the Hundred Demons, an violent altered criminal group.

エンキ

Enki (エンキ, Enki), real name Miki Kinoshita (三木木下, Kinoshita Miki). Is an altered residing in Area D as well as an examiner under Asura's West block. Initially an antagonist she found herself involved with Jin & company; ultimately becoming a steadfast ally to the group.

結城怪盗

Kaito Yuuki (結城 海斗, Yūki Kaito) is a young altered man who went willingly into Area D to look for the murderer of his sister. His ability is named Deserted House, giving him the ability to store things within another dimension.
