Before the fall, and before the trials of “the Titan’s son” Kuklo, a young smith by the name of Angel Aaltonen grappled with the giants as only a craftsman could … This story predates where the Attack on Titan: Before the Fall manga series begins.
1) Anheru works at a workshop creating protective gear/weapons for the scouting legion (the story is set before the 3D maneuver gear was invented). Anheru is a first class weapons craftsman, and therefore has direct access and also is involved in the ongoings within the scouting legion. In the story, people still didn't know about the weak points of the titans; the story is about Anheru beginning to work on the ultimate weapon/gear to fight the titans. So essentially we learn about how the 3D maneuver gear came about.
2) A baby is found crying in a mass of Titan vomit, amidst the dead titan flames. The child is called "child of titan" and is essentially hated by the people inside the walls. He also seems to grow unnaturally fast. Named Kyukuro, he parts himself from his past/upbringing and gambles on the fate of humanity by enlisting in the scouting legion.
3) Kyukuro has survived from the outside wall: in order to defeat the titans, he gets his hands on the 3D manuever gear. Although the gear is still imperfect and causes a troublesome incident for Kyukuro, he fights the titans. Whether it is because it is his fate to fight them, or it is because of his past, he fights against them.

キュクロ・マンセル
MAINIn the light novels; Kuklo has pale skin, a slim build, and an average height. His eyes are dull brown, the same as his hair, which is shoulder length. Kuklo has numerous scars caused by Xavi Inocencio. One of them damaged his right eye, rendering it useless.
シャルル・イノセンシオ
MAINSharle has very large eyes and long blonde hair. She has a braid on each side that are pulled to the back of her hair, with her bangs parting down the middle and cascading down each side of her face, well past her shoulders. She wears what appears to be a nightgown at the beginning of the manga. When seen later in the manga, she is wearing a light-colored, long-sleeved dress with a light-colored, short-sleeved jacket that buttons in the front and stops at the waist. She also wears a light-colored shawl tied in the front around her shoulders.
アンヘル・アールトネン
MAINAngel is a pale man, with a lean, muscular body and messy, neck-length blond hair. During his later years, Angel would also grow a long beard. He also developed a limp at some point in his life, resulting in Angel using a cane to walk.
