Chi is a mischievous newborn kitten who, while on a leisurely stroll with her family, finds herself lost. Separated from the warmth and protection of her mother, she feels distraught. Overcome with loneliness, she breaks into tears in a large urban park meadow, when she is suddenly rescued by a young boy named Yohei and his mother. The kitty is then quickly and quietly whisked away into the warm and inviting Yamada family apartment …where pets are strictly not permitted.

MAINChi Yamada (山田 チー, Yamada Chī), originally named Sarah (セーラ, Sēra), is the titular protagonist of the Chi's Sweet Home franchise. She is a small tabby kitten who was found and adopted by the Yamada family after getting separated from her mom. She makes appearances in all Chi's Sweet Home media and is voiced by Satomi Kōrogi.

SUPPORTINGSaori Ijuuin (伊集院 沙織, Ijuuin Saori) is the owner of Alice, and a neighbor of the apartment the Yamadas move into. She's known to be very lady-like, and her apartment looks like it came out of a fairytale. Saori is a picture book author, in which Alice is often a model for.
