Tomoyo Sakagami (坂上智代, Sakagami Tomoyo?) is one of the major heroines of Clannad and the title character of its sequel visual novel, Tomoyo After ~It's a Wonderful Life~. She transfers to Hikarizaka Private High School as a second-year student during the spring and has a reputation as a tough girl who beats up troublesome delinquents. Kanako calls her the strongest in a brawl during Tomoyo After. Although Tomoya is older than her, Tomoya does not show her respect as a senior student. She has a younger brother named Takafumi and is revealed in Tomoyo After to have a half-sister, Tomo. Tomoyo's theme is Her Determination and her spin-off game theme Light Colors.

She is the ex-girlfriend of Takafumi Sakagami, the younger brother of Tomoyo. She does not like living in her home after seeing her widow mother remarry so she came to freeload at Tomoya's apartment, wanting to see Takafumi again (in Tomoyo After Tomoyo and Takafumi spend a lot of time at Tomoya's apartment). Kanako has a foul mouth and is excessively sarcastic. Her favorite food is ice cream and her surname is never revealed.

坂上鷹文

Takafumi Sakagami (坂上鷹文, Sakagami Takafumi?) is the younger brother of Tomoyo. In Counter Measures, Tomoyo reveals that he is the one who "woke" her up during her time as a delinquent. He is also the reason why Tomoyo wants to save the cherry blossom trees in front of Hikarizaka Private High School. He is described by Tomoyo as a "quiet, moderate and kind guy".

三島 とも

Tomo Mishima (三島とも, Mishima Tomo?) is a character in Tomoyo After ~It's a Wonderful Life~, the younger half-sister of Tomoyo Sakagami.
