星村眞姫那

Makina Hoshimura (星村 眞姫那, Hoshimura Makina) is the main protagonist of the series. She is currently Ouri's Shikabane Hime of the Kōgon Sect who has formidable physical skills and armed with two Ingram MAC-11 machine pistols. She also has a curse that allows her to have indefinite regeneration.

花神旺里

Ouri Kagami (花神旺里 also nicknamed Hanagami) is a secondary Protagonist normal high school student who is currently the Contracted Monk of Makina Hoshimura from the Kōgon Sect and the adopted brother of Keisei Tagami who raised him at the Dai-Rin Orphanage, which is right across the Sekku Temple. He is also friends with four of his fellow classmates: Hiroshige, Sumitori, Mizuki and Nozomi.

山神異月

Itsuki Yamagami (山神 異月 Yamagami Itsuki), nicknamed Ikki, is Takamasa's Shikabane Hime of the Kōgon Sect. She is often armed with a pair of Colt M1911 pistols.

遠岡アキラ

春日望

Nozomi Kasuga (春日 望 Kasuga Nozomi), is a fellow classmate of Ouri Kagami along with Hiroshige, Sumitori and Mizuki from Ikai High School.

壬生貞比呂

Sadahiro Mibu (壬生貞比呂 also nicknamed Auditor ) is Akira's contracted monk who was exiled from the Kōgon Sect for 5 years and the only contracted monk who has the authority to kill human beings. He is also the former friend of Keisei and Akasha during their early years of training.

神生真世

Shinze Kamiu (神生真世) is the Dai Sojo of the Kōgon Sect who controls and maintain all its neighboring districts and its ranks. He is responsible for giving out major orders to soldier monks and other affiliates during mission briefings.

りこ

Riko's association with the Dai-Rin house began when Keisei was assigned to the nearby Sekku Temple. At the time, both the house and the temple were in a state of disrepair. It took Riko and Keisei, along with Riko's mother, to get both temple and house back to a livable state.

頭屋

Tomoharu Kishibe was initially a normal teenage student who only appears in the anime adaptation. He was a friend of Takamasa Sogi and Itsuki Yamagami during their high school years. He died in a car accident with his parents and sister when a group of teenage drivers made them fall off the cliff. He gained the power to control the engines of 4WDs and 2WDs. He used his power to kill those teens. After that, he began targeting teenagers who liked to drive fast and their spectators. Four years later, he was finally killed by Sogi and Itsuki near the end of episode four of season two.
