Polka (ポルカ, Poruka) is one of the main protagonists from Eternal Sonata. A young floral powder salesgirl from the quiet village of Tenuto, she is often viewed with fear and suspicion due to her ability to use magic. Polka befriends Frederic Chopin and journeys to Forte in an attempt to lower down the shipment of mineral powder.
Allegretto (アレグレット, Areguretto) is one of the main protagonists from Eternal Sonata. Allegretto is a young thief from the harbor city of Ritardando, and is often looked up to by the younger orphans as a hero. Allegretto and his friend Beat join Polka's journey to Forte in an attempt to lower taxes on items other than mineral powder.
Frédéric François Chopin (フレデリック・フランソワ・ショパン, Furederikku Furansowa Shopan), usually referred to as as simply Frederic (Frédéric with French language option), is a renowned composer and pianist and one of the main protagonists of Eternal Sonata. In the world of his dreams, he meets Polka, a young girl with an incurable illness, who is the same age his younger sister Emilia was when she died of tuberculosis. Chopin adventures with his companions in search of answers in a world which is slowly becoming his new reality.

SUPPORTINGViola (ビオラ, Biora, French subtitles/International - Harpe) is a young woman who lives in Chorus Plains and spends her time tending her goats. Viola is always accompanied by her pet and loyal companion, Arco. She has an outgoing, cheerful personality and an independent spirit. She joins you when you make your first encounter with a Maledictor. Viola also appears to have feelings for Jazz.
Princess Serenade is a graceful and refined young woman with a kind and gentle nature. However, she is not simply a fragile, sheltered princess. Serenade is steadfast in her beliefs; and though she is always polite and discerning when expressing her opinions, she is willing to fight to protect the things that matter to her. Serenade was sent to Baroque as a spy for Forte, but has apparently developed feelings for Prince Crescendo, the man she was sent to spy upon. She is in favor of peace and is troubled by the effects that war could have on the world. She feels that negotiation is the best solution to problems, but is capable of more than holding her own in battle when needed.
