Sousuke Sagara (相良宗介, Sagara Sōsuke) is a fictional character and the main protagonist in the light novel, manga and anime series Full Metal Panic!.

千鳥かなめ

Kaname Chidori (千鳥 かなめ Chidori Kaname) is the female protagonist of the series. She is often described as "The kind of girl everyone looks up to".

メリッサ・マオ

Melissa is very proficient in use of an Arm Slave, however she lacks exact control. She tends to use fast and furious methods in her firearm use. Later in the series she usually does not pilot an Arm Slave, but she can still pilot excellently, although her capabilities are nowhere near those of Sousuke Sagara and Kurz Weber. Aside from English, she can also speak fluent Cantonese due to her time spent in Hong Kong, particularly in Kowloon.

林水敦信

Atsunobu Hayashimizu (林水 敦信, Hayashimizu Atsunobu) appears in Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu and Full Metal Panic! Invisible Victory. He is a student at Jindai High and the president of the student council where Ren Mikihara serves as his secretary.

Mardukas is generally a dry, straight-laced, and conservative man. He is extremely pragmatic in both military and non-military matters. His pragmatism is the source of much of his reaction towards various other characters. For example, despite being a legendary and highly capable submarine commander himself, he displays great loyalty and dedication towards Captain Testarossa and follows all of her naval commands without question due to his acknowledgement of her unmatched ability to command the highly advanced de Danann. On the other hand, he shows questionable respect for Sagara Souske due to various unprofessional acts carried out by the sergeant. He also divorced his wife, seemingly without much regret, due to the incongruous nature of his job and married life.

ベルファンガン・クルーゾー

Belfangan Clouseau (ベルファンガン・クルーゾー) is an AS pilot and mercenary for Mithril. His call sign is Urzu 1 and he leads the Special Response Team in replacement of Gail McAllen who was killed in the first series. He was originally in Mithril's Mediterranean Sea Fleet. He appears in Full Metal Panic!: The Second Raid. He is of African and Arabic ethnicities. It is heavily implied that he is muslim in the End of Day by Day novel when he says no to an alcoholic beverage while talking to a Merida Island bartender.

A supposed native of Hong Kong and an officer in the Mithril Intelligence Division, Hunter was responsible for providing support for the tactical operations of the Western Pacific Fleets SRT team as they searched his home city for a rogue Codarl-m Arm Slave. This Codarl's unpredictable and violent actions against both North and South Chinese armed forces created tension between the two and almost led to the re-starting of the Chinese Civil War. He was very active in using his connections to temper politicians on both sides during this time.
