Feena (フィーナ) is a main character and the heroine of the original Grandia. She begins the game as a professional adventuress and poster girl for the Adventurer's Society but later joins Justin and Sue on their quest to find Alent and solve the mystery of the ancient Icarians.

Justin

ジャスティン

The young Justin (ジャスティン) is the main protagonist of the Grandia story. He is an adventurous young boy who sets out to be an adventurer as his father and grandfather were before him. He is the childhood friend of Sue and always adventures with her and Puffy around their hometown of Parm.

Liete

リエーテ

Liete (リエーテ) is the High Priestess of Alent, whom Justin first meets through a projection in the Sult Ruins. She inspires him to search for the mystical city of Alent to find the answers he seeks. Liete reappears at certain points on Justin's journey to guide him to Alent. When Justin finally meets Liete in person, he convinces her to join him in the fight against Gaia, and she becomes a playable character.

Rapp

ラップ

Rapp (ラップ) is a playable character from Grandia. He is a young humanoid from the village of Cafu in East Elencia. He joins Justin in his adventures after Justin saves his village from the Garlyle Forces located at the Tower of Doom.

Sue

スー

Sue (スー) is a playable character from Grandia. She is a little girl from Parm, and the childhood friend of the game's main protagonist, Justin. She joins Justin on his quest to find Alent and solve the mystery of the ancient Icarians. Sue is always accompanied by her pet creature, Puffy.

Leen

リーン

Lieutenant Leen (リーン) is a temporary non-battle player character in Grandia. She is an officer of the Garlyle Forces and Aide-de-Camp to Colonel Mullen. She is also the twin sister of Feena - both Leen and her sister have an important duty bestowed upon them by the spirits. Despite Leen's ability and high status, she is often unsure of herself and looks to Mullen for guidance.

Milda

ミルダ

Milda (ミルダ) is a playable character from Grandia. She is a resident of Laine and exhibits incredible strength. She is a strong physical fighter and like most Lainians, cannot cast any form of magic. Milda is quick-tempered and rash but often shows a sweet side and despite only being 19, spends most of her time as a mother figure to Justin and the party.

Mullen

ミューレン

Colonel Herr Mullen (ミューレン大佐) is a non-playable character in Grandia. He is second-in-command of the Garlyle Forces and serves as one of the major antagonists for most of its story, acting as Justin's foil. Mullen is a skilled swordsman and is also popular amongst the Garlyle Forces due to his military charisma and compassion for those of lesser rank. His physical appearance garners him the attention of many women. Colonel Mullen is the son of General Baal and an unnamed humanoid, who is deceased. Because of his mother's death and his father's obsession with Angelou, Mullen has a complicated relationship with his father.

Mio

ミオ

Mio (ミオ) commands her own team within the Garlyle Forces. Like Nana and Saki, she is obsessed with Colonel Mullen. Of the three sergeants, Mio is the most intelligent and her battle tactics often involve odd contraptions.

Guido

ギド

Guido (ギド) is a playable character from Grandia. Guido is a Mogay from the city of Zil Padon. He is a traveling salesman and also Elder of all the Mogay in Zil Padon. Guido meets Justin several times on his journey and later joins the party to assist him on his journey to Alent.
