Roost, an alchemist who specialized in basic research, found out that the guild's bureaucrats didn't understand his work and cut his budget to zero (!) for the next fiscal year.
Realizing that there was no future for him at the Alchemist Guild, he decided to resign.
However, Roost was in fact the world's top alchemist, and the materials he produced were at an extremely high level that no one else can recreate.
After Roost's resignation, the guild fell into turmoil, but it was too late.
Freed from the confines of his former workplace, Roost will begin a slow life on the frontier, developing new alchemy at his leisure!
