Hidan no Aria

神崎・H・アリア

Aria Holmes Kanzaki (神崎・H・アリア, Kanzaki H Aria) a.k.a. Sherlock Holmes IV is the main female protagonist and title character of the Hidan no Aria series. She is a female transfer student of Butei High School. An Assault department S-Rank Butei, who wishes to recruit Kinji Tohyama as her partner after their initial encounter to defeat the IU and exonerate her mother. Over the course of the series, she falls in love with Kinji, although she has difficulty expressing it due to various factors as well as her personality.

峰理子

Riko Mine Lupin IV is a female student at Tokyo Butei High School, former operative of IU, and member of Team Baskerville. Despite being a Rank A in the Inquesta department, she's ironically known as the biggest idiot of her class due to her constantly sleeping during lectures. However, she lives up to her rank by procuring and providing the most reliable information from the school's underground information networks in addition to keeping tabs on every student in the building.

星伽白雪

Shirayuki Hotogi (星伽 白雪, Hotogi Shirayuki) is a female student of Butei High and a childhood friend of Kinji Tohyama. Currently, she is Tokyo Butei Academy's student council president in addition to other clubs and an A-rank member of the academy's SSR department. Using the Hotogi Arts, she is able to control flames and has a natural affinity for divination and fortune telling.

レキ

Reki (レキ; 蕾姫, Reki) is an S-rank Butei Snipe department. Her real name is unknown and is shown to be habitually taciturn, constantly impassive, indifferent in fashion, and almost always found wearing her headphones. Reki at start of the series was shown to be emotionless earning the nickname "Robot Reki." However, throughout the course of the series from her interactions with Kinji Tohyama, she starts to develop emotions, which she shows Kinji by smiling at him and falling in love with him as well.

ジャンヌ・ダルク

Jeanne d'Arc the 30th (ジャンヌ・ダルク, Jannu Daruku) is an ice attribute ability user from the organization IU. During the course of Volume 2 of the light novel, she targets Shirayuki Hotogi as Durandal in an attempt to kidnap her and force her to join IU, but is captured from the combined efforts of Aria H. Kanzaki, Kinji Tohyama, and Shirayuki. As one of the conditions of her plea bargain with the Masters, she is forced to stay in Butei High as a 2nd-year exchange student from Paris enrolled in Informa. She is also one of the few people that knows Kinji's secret. In addition, Jeanne is the leader of Team Constellation.

風魔陽菜

Fuuma has white skin, waist long, black hair tied up in a pony tail and held by a white ribbon. She also wears a red long muffler around the neck, a fundoshi for underwear, and traditional ninja garb. According to Kinji, she usually goes bra less. Fuuma's face is usually covered by a mask. She always wears shorts under her skirt and doesn't really have a scent to conceal her presence.

There is a fair bit of mystery surrounding Shiranui's past prior to him enrolling in Butei High. However his peers believed that he had experience handling a gun before entering Butei High; the reason being because in the first term of his first year he teamed up with Kinji Tohyama under the supervision of a year student to stop a bank robbery. During the raid he entered the building calmly and efficiently took out the leader of the armed assailants by shooting him in both the legs without even breaking his signature smile.
