True Calendar (T.C.) 71 - A new age where 70% of the human population lives in space thanks to the development of "Dyson Sphere", a city in space.
The world is divided into two main powers: The Dorssia Military Pact Federation, a power which grew out of a military alliance, and the Atlantic Rim United States (ARUS), which grew in power as it expanded its trade agreements. The minor nation of JIOR has declared neutrality between these two forces and maintains its peace through economic prosperity.
Within the JIOR's Sphere, Haruto Tokishima lived an ordinary life as a high school student in the division known as "Module 77"—until the Dorssian military begins their sudden invasion!
But the whole world will be shaken when Haruto meets the mysterious humanoid weapon, Valvrave!

MAINHaruto Tokishima (時縞 ハルト, Tokishima Haruto) is the main protagonist of Valvrave the Liberator. Before the events which led to him becoming the pilot of Valvrave I, he was an ordinary student at Sakimori Academy in JIOR. He is also the childhood friend of Shoko Sashinami.

SUPPORTINGSaki Rukino (流木野 サキ, Rukino Saki) is one of the main characters of the series. She is a popular idol who has grown aloof due to her career being on hold, and one of the few people who knows about Haruto's power. She and Haruto discover the other Valvrave models hidden in Module 77. Saki enters the cockpit and becomes the pilot of Valvrave Four (coded VVVIV), to which she names "Carmilla", as well as being injected with the same substance as Haruto, thus gaining the same powers as him (like transferring to another body).
