Chizuru Minamoto

源ちずる

Chizuru Minamoto (源 千鶴, Minamoto Chizuru) is the deuteragonist of the Kanokon series. She is a second-year female student at Kouta Oyamada's (her love interest) school who appears to be a well-endowed teenage girl on the outside, but she is actually a powerful kitsune. She is the series Yandere.

Nozomu Ezomori

犹守望

Nozomu is a first-year female student at Kouta's school who first appears in the third volume of the novels. She has short silver hair, and is in fact a 200-year-old wolf spirit. She has an older brother named Saku.

Kouta Oyamada

小山田耕太

Kouta Oyamada (小山田 耕太, Oyamada Kōta) is the main protagonist of the Kanokon series. He moves from the country to the city in his first year of high school, and on his first day of school, he discovers that the second year girl Chizuru Minamoto is actually a kitsune. He used to live with his grandfather before moving. Kouta generally has a mild personality and is indecisive. When he was younger, he almost drowned in a river and now has a fear of swimming. At his school, everyone either calls him the "Great Erotic King" or a "beast" because of the disgraceful acts Chizuru commits with him in public.

Tamamo

玉藻

It seems as not much is know about Tamamo's appearance but she does seem to have a black yukata, bigger breasts than her daughter, and hair tied at the back. Also like her daughter, Tamamo’s hair turns from black to blonde when she goes into her kitsune form. She has nine white-gold tails while in her kitsune form.

Akane Asahina

朝比奈あかね

She is the class representative of Kouta Oyamada's class. Due to her position as class representative she has a high sense of regulations, and therefore disagrees with how ardently Chizuru Minamoto pursues Kouta while at school.

Yukihana

雪花

Yukihana (雪花) is a yuki-onna and a ninja, who made her first appearance in volume three of the novels. She works under Tamamo at the Tama no Yu hot springs resort, and at her beachside restaurant Tama no Ya. In volume seven of the novels, she becomes a teacher for the handicapped at Kouta's school. While working as a teacher, she goes by the alias Hanadai Yukino (雪野 花代 Yukino Hanadai). If anyone calls her using the name Yukihana, she says that she is not that person.

Tayura Minamoto

源たゆら

Tayura Minamoto (源 たゆら Minamoto Tayura) is the tritagonist and the younger brother of Chizuru Minamoto and a classmate of Kouta Oyamada who is also a fox spirit. He was adopted into Chizuru's family and frequently teases her about her age which results in her getting visibly annoyed. Initially Tayura was jealous of the relationship between his sister and Kouta, prompting Chizuru to say that he is suffering from a sister complex. He ends up falling in love with Akane Asahina, but he is given the cold shoulder whenever he tries to get closer to her. He has stated that he is okay with her coldness and the two gradually warm up to each other.
