Zatch Bell, known in Japan as Gash Bell (ガッシュ・ベル, Gasshu Beru), and Kiyo Takamine, known in Japan as Kiyomaro Takamine (高嶺清麿, Takamine Kiyomaro), are the primary protagonists of the Zatch Bell! manga and anime series. Brought together after Kiyo's father discovered a memory-wiped Zatch in an English forest, the duo serves as the central focal point of the narrative's emotional and action-driven arcs. While Zatch is a Mamodo child sent to Earth to participate in the once-per-millennium battle for the crown, Kiyo is a genius junior high student who serves as his human partner and "Book Keeper."

Kanchomé (キャンチョメ, Kyanchome, spelled as Kanchome in the Japanese version) and Parco Folgore (パルコ・フォルゴレ, Paruko Forugore) are two fictional characters and protagonists in the manga and anime series Zatch Bell!. Kanchomé specializes in Trickery Magic and Transformation Magic. He placed 7th out of the 100 mamodo in the tournament.

Tia, known in the Japanese version as Tio (ティオ, Tio) and Megumi Oumi (大海恵, Ōumi Megumi) are two fictional characters in the manga and anime series Konjiki no Gash Bell! and are considered the female protagonists of the series and the first official and main allies of the main protagonists Zatch Bell and Kiyo Takamine. Tia is mainly skilled in Defense magic and Healing magic but has a few offense spells as well. Tia placed 5th in the battle overall.

ブラゴ

Brago (ブラゴ, Burago) and Sherry Belmont (シェリー・ベルモンド, Sherī Berumondo, Sherie Belmondo) are main characters in Zatch Bell!. They are considered the rivals of Zatch Bell and Kiyo Takamine. Since their first appearance, they were one of the most powerful teams in the series, and have been seen burning more spellbooks than any other one. They are the runner-ups for the Battle to Determine Mamodo King. Brago's spells have the Gravity attribute and they use the black spell book.
