Leap Month

You often hear stories about couples being stuck in a rut, or being sexless... so is that what they are? Sato and Hikaru have been together for 10 years, and living together for 5. How long is it since they last slept with each other? They're not married, yet they spend their lives in much the same way as an old married couple. Sato wants Hikaru to look at her as a woman again, so she invites him to a hotel, but he turns her down. Standing outside the hotel, she hears a voice say, "I'll go with you." It's Suguru, six years her junior. His idea of love is "Don't try too hard." He asks her what she would do if she had an extra month in her year, like there's an extra day in a leap year. She knows this is cheating, but what would happen if she really did have that kind of time where she was free to do anything? When all barriers are removed, a no-holds-barred love affair begins.
