シロエ

Shiroe is a Half-Alv Enchanter-Scribe and the main protagonist of the Log Horizon series. A veteran player of the MMORPG Elder Tale, he establishes the guild Log Horizon in order to improve the city of Akiba after the Catastrophe.

アカツキ

In the real world, she was a college student named Shizuka Hanekura (羽倉静はねくら しずか, Hanekura Shizuka), attending Yamazaki Gakuen University. Naturally short and cutesy all her life, Akatsuki created a tall male avatar in Elder Tale as wish fulfillment — which backfires on her when the Catastrophe hits and brings all logged-in players into the world of Theldesia.

にゃん太

Nyanta is a Felinoid Swashbuckler-Chef and one of the few known characters with even more experience in Elder Tale than Shiroe, having started the game during its beta test stage twenty years ago. He is now one of the "senior members" in Log Horizon, as well as the guild's head chef.

直継

Naotsugu is a Human Guardian-Border Patrol, and a longtime friend of Shiroe and Nyanta's from their days in the Debauchery Tea Party. He returned to Elder Tale for the Homesteading the Noosphere expansion pack, thus becoming involved with the Catastrophe.

Krusty (Crusty in Crunchyroll's translation), also known as Berserker Krusty, is a Human Guardian-Berserker and the guild master of D.D.D, the largest battle guild in Akiba. After the formation of the Round Table Alliance, he served as its spokesperson due to his experience in handling social affairs.

ミノリ

In the real world, she is a 14-year-old student named Minori Housaki (鵬咲実里, Hōsaki Minori). After her younger twin brother, Touya, was involved in a car accident that rendered him paraplegic, the two began playing Elder Tale so he could socialize without his disability hindering him. They were learning the basics from Shiroe when the Catastrophe struck, after which they were separated from him and ended up in the malicious guild Hamelin.

Isaac, also known as Black Sword Isaac, is the guild master of Black Sword Knights. He is a Human Guardian-Gladiator and a member of the Round Table Alliance.

ミチタカ

Michitaka is a Human Monk-Blacksmith based in Akiba on the Yamato server. He is the guild master of Marine Organization, the biggest production guild in all of Yamato with over 2,500 members.
