Naru Narusegawa

成瀬川なる

Naru Narusegawa (成瀬川 なる, Narusegawa Naru) is the deuteragonist of Love Hina, with most of the story centering around her and/or Keitaro Urashima. A studious high school graduate, she desires to enter Tokyo University to fulfill a promise she made in the past.

Motoko Aoyama

青山素子

Motoko Aoyama (青山 素子 Aoyama Motoko), sombre and athletic, as of the start of the manga, is a fifteen-year-old high school sophomore (Grade 10) and martial arts practitioner living in Room 302 of the Hinata House. Dubbed “Kendo Girl” by others, Motoko is born into the head family of the Shinmei-ryu School of Martial Arts; a school of swordswomen who act as demon slayers and exorcists in Japan, and is next in line to inherit ownership of the school.

Shinobu Maehara

前原しのぶ

Shinobu Maehara (前原 しのぶ Maehara Shinobu), as of the start of the manga, is an extremely shy junior high student (Grade 7) living in Room 201 of the Hinata House.

Mitsune Konno

紺野みつね

Mitsune "Kitsune" Konno (紺野 みつね Konno Mitsune) A sly and opportunistic young woman and is a close friend to Naru Narusegawa and one of the first of the Hinata Residents to live at the Hinata House.

Tamago Onsen (Onsen Tamago (Hotsprings Egg)) (usually referred to as simply Tama or Tama-chan) is a Hot Springs Turtle that, due to his popularity, serves as the unofficial animal mascot of the Love Hina series alongside Liddo-kun. He was originally given as a present to Keitaro Urashima and Naru Narusegawa by Mutsumi Otohime at the end of their trip through southern Japan, however, he has since been adopted as a pet of the entire Hinata Inn residents.
