Naoko Kirino (Kirino Naoko, 桐乃尚子) is the main female villain protagonist of the Pumpkin Night manga and the initial namesake holder for the first 19 chapters of the manga before her love interest, Kazuya replaces her after she seemingly dies, though after Mr. Makino kills Naruto and his father before ending in a psyche ward she was interned at, it's revealed Naoko had somehow survived and went on to reclaim the Pumpkin Night mantle. A mental patient falsely placed in a mental hospital to hide the truth of her marring, she would go on to kill more than 20 people and escape from the hospital, seeking revenge against her former schoolmates. Wearing a pumpkin reminiscent to the one she wore during a Halloween shindig to cover her disfiguration, Naoko would begin to stalk her targets and spread horrors and carnage never seen before, all in the name of killing her hated enemies, particularly during the events of Part 1, then Parts 2 and 3 to a certain extent.

牧野和也

Kazuya Makino (牧野 和也) is the main male protagonist of the Pumpkin Night series. Initially appearing as the love interest of Naoko, Kazuya would soon go insane after her apparent death and briefly become the second person to use the Pumpkin Night title before he creates his own persona as the Pumpkin King.

Naruto Kuroki (Kuroki Naruto, 黒木鳴人) is one of the main characters of and the main antagonist of Part 1 in the Pumpkin Night series. He along his friends bullied Naoko in school. He was the perpetrator responsible for burning Naoko's face during the Pumpkin Queen event by putting sulfuric acid and filling polyethylene bags into the Pumpkin head. He returns as a posthumous supporting character in Part 2 after his death as a ghost, regretful for his actions towards Naoko.

She was one of Naruto's friends who bullied Naoko and would later help disfigured her face later sending her to the Hirayama Clinic. She would soon be the first victim of the bullies to fell by Naoko's hands when she was looking up pet photos on her social media account and got a follow from Naoko's Pumpkin Night account. The account would then post a threatening message of which spooks her without thinking of how serious it is. Soon after, Naoko came after her after killing a delivery man in the process, of which prompts Asumi into closing the door to escape being stabbed only to be jumped on by Naoko who then maims her, especially by rendering her permanently blind by her carver knife, with her left eye ripped out. She somehow got outside of her house in spite of this and ran out to the street which is busy and met her grisly fate ironically by getting ran over by a truck. Her ran over corpse would get collected, patched up, and put in a coffin of which was at her funeral, and then Saki, one of her cronies, would be put in as part of a ploy to kill her by Naoko.

She looks like a tomboy, also was one of the bullies of Naoko Kirino and one of Naruto's friends who bullied her. After Asumi's death, Saki would be the next to fall to Naoko Kirino who tracked her down, and knocked her out bloodily, and it broke her nasal bridge, while killing Hirokawa in the process. She got her tied up and put in the same coffin Asumi is as part of a ploy to kill her by burning her. The ploy fails when Saki managed to escape her fiery death by knocking on the coffin as it was being incinerated and put in the hospital with severe third-degree (or possibly fourth-degree) burns. Naoko tracks her down, kills all the staff in the operating room and then finally killed Saki by electrocuting her and taking her place at the hospital as a way to fool the bullies and Kazuya. Later on, her parents would be on the receiving, lethal end of Naoko after they came to pick up what they think is their daughter.

Arata Fukutani is an antagonist of Part 1 in Pumpkin Night. He was one of the Bullies of Naoko Kirino and was lated Killed by Naruto for daring to spill their secrets.
