The countries of Mephius and Garbera have been waging a war for ten years and are trying to put an end to this long fight through a political marriage between the two royal families.
Orba, who was driven from his home because of the war and was forced to become a gladiator, looks exactly like the crown prince of Mephius, and it has been decided he will be substituting him during the wedding ceremony. On the other hand, Vileena, the princess of Garbera, has secretly decided to ensnare the crown prince for her own country’s interests.

ビリーナ・アウエル
MAINVileena Owell is the third and youngest princess of the Kingdom of Garbera. She is the daughter of the current king, Ainn Owell, and is particularly close to her paternal grandfather, Jeorg Owell, Garbera's previous king. She is well known and treasured by the people of her home country for her bright personality and airship piloting skills. She was mostly raised by her Lady's maid, Theresia, who is always close by and keeps Vileena from acting out too much.

SUPPORTINGIneli Maphius is daughter of Melissa Mephius, second wife of Guhl Mephius, and current Empress of Mephius. She takes great joy in watching the gladiatorial fights and would drag out her brother, Gil Mephius, to watch the matches with her. She often hung around with Gil's circle on young noble youths, such as Baton Cadmos and Troa Hergei.

SUPPORTINGHou Ran (also called "Ran") is a mysterious female slave that helps care for the Dragons in Tarkas's Gladiator group. She is a member of the Dragon God worshiping Nomads that roam in the western mountains of Mephius. Unlike her primarily reclusive kin, Ran was exceptionally curios and secretly boarded one of her tribe’s caravan wagons and came out into the outside world.

SUPPORTINGGowen is a former Gladiator and current slave supervisor for Tarkas. He is in charge of Orba, Shique,Gilliam, and the other gladiator's schedule and chores. Though not particularly kind or friendly, he genuinely trains the gladiators so that they have a better chance to survive.
シーク・エイランド
SUPPORTINGShique Aeland was another Gladiator in Tarkas troupe along with Orba. He has a habit of teasing Orba, despite the fact that Orba mostly ignores him. Among everyone, Shique is the closest thing that Orba has to a friend and trusted confidant.
オーバリー・ビラン
SUPPORTINGGeneral Oubary was the veteran Mephian solider in charge of Apta at the time it was under siege by Garberan forces. With only a small number of troops stationed at the fortress, he sent out people to forcefully conscript local villagers. This included Orba's brother, Roan. However, those in charge had already decided to sacrifice the fortress and decide to send the reinforcements elsewhere.
