MAINAkira Takano (高野 晶, Takano Akira) is the smartest of the main female characters in School Rumble where she is the brains and strategist of the group. Always keeping a low profile, her quiet nature keeps her from drawing attention to herself, which Akira uses to her advantage to gather information on her classmates and seems to know every detail of their personal lives. Curious by nature, Akira analyzes everything she sees in a very meticulous way and always seems to be one step ahead of everybody.

Saeko

SUPPORTINGSaeko contributes with her fair share of plot twists and weird stories where she writes a story for Tsumugi Yuuki and Mai Otsuka to read for their debate about the school play. In her play, Mikoto Suo, Kozue Mihara and Karen Ichijo are ballerinas and Kyosuke Imadori is their dance instructor. Although it is not fully known if Saeko wrote the the story, Yuuki and Mai assume so because Saeko tends to be dark, and with a dark and scary story, Saeko must have written it. Saeko also appears in the tea clubs coffee shop as a very popular waitress due to her beautiful appearance and she serves Koriyama, one of 2-C's teachers and really throws him for a loop.
