ロイド・アーヴィング

Lloyd Irving (ロイド・アーヴィング, Roido Aavingu) is the main protagonist of Tales of Symphonia, the seventh major release in the Tales series. Once a simple country boy, Lloyd is thrust into the outside world following a raid on his village. The Chosen of Regeneration is one of his closest friends, and after being exiled from his hometown of Iselia, Lloyd joins her on the Journey of Regeneration. Although the young warrior himself plays no part in the prophecy, he is still a strong optimist and a fair leader.

クラトス・アウリオン

Kratos Aurion (クラトス・アウリオン, Kuratosu Aurion) is a key protagonist from Tales of Symphonia. He is the fourth person to join the party, aiding Lloyd Irving, Colette Brunel, and Genis Sage in battle at the Martel Temple. He takes on the job of guarding the Chosen of Mana on her Journey of Regeneration.

コレット・ブルーネル

Colette Brunel (コレット・ブルーネル, Koretto Buruuneru, "Collet Brunel") is the female lead in Tales of Symphonia. She is the seventh successful Chosen One, a being destined to regenerate the world by ascending the Tower of Salvation as an angel, thereby saving her world, Sylvarant.

藤林しいな

Sheena Fujibayashi (藤林 しいな, Fujibayashi Shiina, "Fujibayashi Shihna") is one of the main protagonists in Tales of Symphonia. A skilled warrior from Mizuho, Sheena is sent to assassinate Sylvarant's Chosen of Regeneration, Colette Brunel. Sheena is always accompanied by Corrine, a human-made Summon Spirit and Sheena's best friend. Because of her looks, Zelos Wilder frequently flirts with her, but she more often than not rejects him, usually in a violent way. As stated in a skit, her name is not actually her real name, but only those of her family can know what their real names are.

Raine Sage (リフィル・セイジ, Rifiru Seiji, "Refill Sage") is a protagonist in Tales of Symphonia. She is Genis Sage's older sister and school teacher of the village of Iselia.

ジーニアス・セイジ

Genis Sage (ジーニアス・セイジ, Jiiniasu Seiji, "Genius Sage") is one of the main protagonists from Tales of Symphonia. Genis is the twelve-year-old friend of the other story's protagonists, Lloyd Irving and Colette Brunel. He is the younger brother of Raine Sage, and a prodigy in academics and magic. Although at first, Genis seems somewhat off-putting and sarcastic, he can be one of the group's most mature members.

Iron Will Rodyle (ロディル, Rodiru) is an antagonist in Tales of Symphonia and one of the five Desian Grand Cardinals. He oversees the Remote Island Human Ranch.

フォシテス

Forcystus the Gnashing Gale (フォシテス, Foshitesu), sometimes referred to as the "Desian Hero", is an antagonist in Tales of Symphonia and one of the Desian Grand Cardinals. He maintains the Iselia Human Ranch and is the most respected Desian after Pronyma, leader of the Grand Cardinals.
