Toriko

トリコ

Toriko (トリコ, Toriko) is a renowned, incredibly strong and skilled Gourmet Hunter and the titular main protagonist of the Toriko anime and manga series. He is one of the "Four Heavenly Kings," nicknamed "The Glutton" for his abnormally large appetite (as a food serving for 500 people could only get him 1/10 full), with his skill has allowed him to discover roughly 2% of the approximately 300,000 varieties of known ingredients worldwide, which is around 6000 varieties. Toriko is also notable for having a close connection, partnership and affiliation with many of the world's most influential individuals, such as being the combo partner of chef Komatsu (one of the top 100 chefs in the world), the adopted son and apprentice of IGO President Ichiryu (alongside the other Four Heavenly Kings), the husband of Gourmet Research Chief Rin (one of the IGO's highest-ranking officials), the adoptive father figure of a Battle Wolf named Terry Cloth (making him the only human known to have ever tamed a Battle Wolf), and is a close ally and friend of the leaders of both the Gourmet Knights (a noble order of Gourmet Hunters) and the Gourmet Yakuza (one of the world's most notable criminal organizations).

ゼブラ

Zebra (ゼブラ, Zebura) is a Gourmet Hunter and considered to be the strongest member of the Four Heavenly Kings due to his power, battle experience and destructive capability.

ココ

Coco (ココ, Coco) is the "Gentleman" of the "Four Heavenly Kings" (四天王, Shitennou) and is good friends with Toriko, with whom he was raised and trained with. While Toriko mostly relies on his brute strength, Coco prefers using stealthy techniques and cunning strategy to subdue aggressors. He is also strong defensively; he is immune to over five hundred different kinds of poison. Coco is also a world-famous Fortune Teller whose fortune-telling abilities and good looks have made him extremely popular with women and results in him being mobbed by customers when he is in public. He, and the other Four Heavenly Kings, were trained by Ichiryu, the President of the IGO.

サニー

Sunny (サニー, Sanī) is one of the "Four Heavenly Kings" (四天王, Shitennou) and Rin's older brother. He has a way of 'knocking' without even touching the target, mostly related to his 'sensor' talent which allows him to know the physical state of those around him. He seeks "harmony" in his dishes which is the perfect use of ingredients, perfect handling of the food and most importantly producing a perfect taste. He, and the other Four Heavenly Kings, were trained by Ichiryu, the President of the IGO. As of the Shining Gourami arc, he also has a child Mother Snake as an Animal Partner, called Quinn.

小松

Komatsu (小こ松まつ, Komatsu) is the Head Chef working for the now ten-star restaurant in Hotel Gourmet, a hotel owned by the prestigious IGO and is the deuteragonist of Toriko. He is Toriko's ever enthusiastic yet timid chef partner and best friend, who despite his weakness is greatly interested by what he finds in his travels with Toriko. As a result, he tries to overcome his fear and does his best to help. At the beginning of the series he was only a five-star chef of little to no recognition but upon making many gourmet achievements he rose to the rank of six-star and has made it into the prestigious IGO Chef Ranking at number 88, thus being recognized as one of the best chefs in the world.

次郎

Jiro (次郎, Jirō) was a legendary Gourmet Hunter who is well known as the Knocking Master in the Gourmet Age. Despite his elderly appearance, he was one of the strongest individuals in the world and was one of the three disciples of the legendary and revered "Gourmet God" Acacia. Despite technically being retired; before his death he would, on occasions, hunt for ingredients for his own pleasure and like many other well known individuals, he sought the holy and phantasmal ingredient known as GOD.

鉄平

Teppei (鉄平, Teppei) is a famous Saiseiya under the tutelage of Yosaku and is the grandchild of "Knocking Master" Jiro, from whom he inherits the title. He decided to become a Saiseiya after seeing a once beautiful valley that his grandfather used to hunt in, be turned into a barren wasteland due to over-hunting.

アカシア

Acacia (アカシア, Akashia) was the greatest Gourmet Hunter in history and is renowned and worshiped as the holy "Bishokushin" (美食神, "Bishokushin") by the people of the Human World. He is the main antagonist of the Gourmet World Act in Toriko. Throughout his life and career, he discovered countless ingredients all over the world, including the Gourmet Jellyfish from which he discovered the Gourmet Cells, and is the first and only person to find the holy and phantasmal ingredient GOD, taking most of his life to do so and was only able to discover it in his final years. With GOD he was able to stop the great war that nearly destroyed the Human World centuries ago and begin the bright new Gourmet Age that would be based entirely around his philosophies on food, although he did this to guarantee that in the future he would devour the entire planet. He was also the combo partner of the legendary "Chef Goddess", Froese. He can be considered as the main antagonist of the series due that he planned or played a key role in most of the events of the series.

ボギーウッズ

ゾンゲ

Zongeh (ゾンゲ, Zonge) is a Gourmet Hunter that Toriko and Komatsu first meet on their way to Gourmet Fortune. He provides comic relief in the series, as his cowardly nature and ineptitude in battle contrast strongly with the carefree way in which Toriko handles his environment. So far, Zongeh has only survived his dangerous misadventure through luck. Zongeh constantly discusses his 'skills' in terms of Role-Playing Game levels and statistics.
