Utawarerumono

Utawarerumono is a story centering around the masked protagonist, Hakuoro, who one day is found by a family of two girls and their grandmother in a nearby forest close to their village. He is badly injured and is soon found to have amnesia, so they take him to their home and treat him until he is well again. Hakuoro is soon accepted into their village where he stays and lives with them, but before long Hakuoro finds that life in this village is being oppressed by the greedy emperor who rules over the country their village resides in. Soon after, these negative actions taken towards their village result in him leading a rebellion against the emperor of the country which later lands him to become emperor of a vast new country which is named Tusukuru, after the well-respected woman who helped saved his life.
After becoming emperor and things begin to calm down, Hakuoro soon finds out that peace is hard to maintain and finds himself constantly in battle in order to protect the peace of his country and his people. Eventually, he is led into many bloody battles in order to fight for the freedom of all those residing in Tusukuru. Along the way, Hakuoro meets several other strong warriors from several other countries and tribes who are fully accepted into Hakuoro's growing family. Many moments of hardship and laughter ensue as time continues but with Hakuoro leading the way, all others are confident in his ability to lead.

MAINEruruu (エルルゥ) is Aruruu's older sister and Hakuowlo's main love interest. It was she who found Hakuowlo and healed him back to health in the beginning of the series. She gets her name from the Eruruu Flower.

MAINHakuowlo (ハクオロ) is the main character of Utawarerumono: Prelude to the Fallen. Once an amnesiac man found heavily injured in a forest, he was healed by Eruruu and led a rebellion before becoming the owlo of Tuskur. After a series of battles to defend his new country against external threats, he rediscovered the secrets of his own past, including his true identity as Uitsualnemetia's good half, before merging with the darker half and becoming the god united. Years after, Hakuowlo/Uitsualnemetia was sealed beneath Onkamiyamukai to prevent his other half from causing more havoc, a shrine was built around with Eruruu as its caretaker. He kept a watch over Tuskur and the world from within his domain. He then passed his mask and power over to Haku, becoming human in the process and leaving his domain/paradise.

SUPPORTINGKarulau (カルラ), full name Karulawaturei (カルラゥアツゥレイ), is a former princess of Larmanionu turned slave who was found in a shipwreck by Tuskur soldiers. Since then, she was taken in by Hakuowlo as a warrior in service to him, even after he was sealed.

SUPPORTINGTouka (トウカ) was an Evenkuruga loyal to Tuskur. Once in service to another country named Kucca Kecca, she was Tuskur's enemy before realizing she had been deceived. Afterwards, she switched allegiances to Hakuowlo and served thenceforth as his bodyguard.

SUPPORTINGTuskur (トゥスクル) was the grandmother of Eruruu and Aruruu and the village elder of Yamayura. It was she who healed Hakuowlo from his injuries and took him in to her house. Her accidental death sparked a battle between Yamayura village and the local lord, Sasante, eventually leading to a full-scale rebellion against the wicked owlo Inkalla. When the rebellion succeeded, her name became the name of the country formed in the wake of Kenashikourupe's fall.
