Den

Den (デン) is the Rockbell family pet. Her gender is never directly stated in the original manga, but she is later confirmed to be female in multiple guidebooks. However, both the VIZ English translation of the manga and the Funimation versions of both anime, refer to Den as a boy in all instances, perhaps not realizing that Den is female. The Chuang Yi English manga correctly refers to her as being female. She lost her front left leg sometime before the start of the series in a traffic accident while protecting Edward and his friends (who are unspecified). As a result, she wears an automail limb in its place.
