SUPPORTINGKōichi Sakakibara (榊原 恒一, Sakakibara Kōichi) is the male protagonist of Another. He is a new transfer student to Yomiyama North Middle School's 9th Grade Class 3 in May 1998. He is the only son in the Sakakibara family. His mother supposedly passed away 15 years ago after giving birth to him. He also makes a minor appearance in phone calls during the events of Another 2001, where he is 18 years old.

SUPPORTINGRitsuko Sakakibara (榊原 理津子, Sakakibara Ritsuko) is the older sister of Reiko Mikami, the deceased wife of Yōsuke Sakakibara, and the mother of Kōichi Sakakibara, who only appears in the school graduation album and the old Sakakibara family pictures. She went to Yomiyama North Middle School in 1972 and was in the same class as the dead Misaki Yomiyama, 9th Grade Class 3-3.
