Seishuu is a tall and slim handsome young man with black hair that has an ahoge that splits in two, black eyes that are described as unpleasant sometimes and a muscular build.

琴石なる

Naru is a small girl with lightly tanned skin (in the anime), wide brown eyes and short spiky wood brown hair. It is down save for a small ponytail holding up the left side of her fringe.

Tamako has the appearance of a seemingly sweet girl with blackish-brown hair that is tied in thin pigtails with bangs covering her forehead, brown eyes and oval-framed glasses.

山村美和

Miwa is an energetic tomboy who likes to tease Seishuu Handa, but her actions are more like bullying. She is also rather blunt when she speaks and just tells what's on her mind. Despite this she can be rather caring as shown in episode 6 where she was worried that when Kosuke Kanzaki who beat Seishuu in a calligraphy contest and took first prize came to visit, she tried to avoid the topic of his name so he wouldn't reveal his identity and cause Seishuu to relive his depression from losing and commit suicide (although as it turned out Seishuu knew from the beginning who he was but was less bothered with him than expected).

川藤鷹生

Although he looks pretty carefree, he takes his job seriously as Seishuu's art dealer. He's a nice guy who helps out Seishuu and sometimes even gets worried for him. However, he admits he considers Seishuu as someone he makes his money from first before considering him a friend. He can also be strict as he told Seishuu he wouldn't give Seishuu sympathy when he punched the museum curator when he said harsh words about Seishuu's work since the curator he punched was an old man using a cane. He also seems to have a temper which becomes more ferocious and volatile when he is drunk. He can also be shrewd as shown through his negotiation with Naru to have her show him and Kosuke where Seishuu was and by his use of Kosuke as a rival for Seishuu to motivate him to get better at calligraphy. He is an insightful friend to Seishuu as he understands that coming to the island will be good for him as it will help him search for his purpose and style as a calligrapher.

He is a pudgy, middle aged man with black hair, black eyes, and glasses. I’m terms of physical appearance, he is very average. However in old photographs taken 35 years ago, it seems that he was once quite a handsome young man with a slender built. In the very early chapters he appears older and thinner with a sterner appearance.

坂本一行

山村巌

Yamamura is a very proud man he loves fishing and/or anything sea related, and himself. He seems to have a god complex, during episode four he makes Seishuu Handa write his boat name as"Yuigadokuson-Maru" meaning "I am Holy" or "I am God". Miwa Yamamura tells Seishuu that her father doesn't tolerate failure and is very frightening when he is angered.
