He usually takes responsibility, and tends to avoid violence when possible. He seems to be virtuous, much like his Captain's image; until later, when it was revealed his Captain was a traitor. He is often seen in the company of Renji and Kira. Along with Hinamori, Renji and Kira followed Shūhei as their senpai during their academy days. Omake chapters also show that he is quite perverted.

綱彌代時灘

Tokinada is a slender man with green eyes and medium length, dark-green hair that is generally unkempt except for a tightly tied braid along his left side of his head. He wears a loose fitting, black Shihakushō over which he wears a white haori.

産絹彦禰

Hikone is a dark-skinned, androgynous young child with red eyes and short dark hair and is described as "beautiful". Hikone usually wears a red, shoulderless Shihakushō and is barefoot. They carry their Zanpakutō on their back, secured in place by a length of chain.

For over a century, Aizen masqueraded as a benevolent Shinigami officer while secretly plotting his betrayal and conducting depraved experiments, which around 100 years ago led to the Hollowfication of the Visored and their (alongside Kisuke Urahara's) forced exile. Aizen's plans reach a tipping point after he slaughters the Central 46, orchestrates Rukia Kuchiki's execution, and fakes his own death in a successful ploy to obtain Urahara's Hōgyoku. After retrieving said artifact and revealing his treachery, Aizen and his longtime followers, Gin Ichimaru and Kaname Tōsen, retreat from Soul Society into Hueco Mundo, where Aizen is revealed to have built an army of Arrancar.

平子真子

Shinji Hirako (平子 真子, Hirako Shinji) is the captain of the 5th Division in the Gotei 13. His lieutenant is Momo Hinamori. He also served as a recruiter and the de facto leader of the Visored. He was also a captain over 100 years ago prior to his exile and was reinstated to his old post sometime after the battle against Sousuke Aizen.

Suì-Fēng is a relatively petite woman with gray eyes and black hair which she wears short with two long braids bound in white cloth, each ending in a large golden ring. 110 years ago, Suì-Fēng's hair was shoulder-length and had a softer look to it. She wears a traditional Shinigami captain's uniform with a sleeveless haori and a yellow obi tied around her waist. Underneath her standard Shinigami captain's uniform, Suì-Fēng wears the uniform of the commander-in-chief of the Onmitsukidō, which has no sleeves and doesn't cover the back, though she does wear long black arm bands. Instead of wearing the standard Shinigami sandals with tabi, she wears traditional Chinese shoes with ordinary white socks.

ティア・ハリベル

Tier Harribel (ティア・ハリベル, Tia Hariberu; Viz "Tier Halibel") is an Arrancar and the former Tres (3rd) Espada in Sousuke Aizen's army until Aizen's defeat by Ichigo Kurosaki, representing the form of death of sacrifice (犠牲, Gisei). After Aizen's fall, she assumed control of Hueco Mundo, becoming its de facto ruler. However, she was later defeated by Yhwach and imprisoned in Silbern, leaving Hueco Mundo to be overtaken by the Wandenreich.

バンビエッタ・バスターバイン

Bambietta is a slender young girl with long, straight, dark purple hair and eyes of the same color. Her attire is a variation of the Sternritter's typical white uniform, consisting of the order's signature hooded cloak, a thigh-length trench coat, knee-high boots, a miniskirt, and black stockings with a red trim on her gloves and boots. She wears a red heart-shaped belt buckle and a white cap with gold trimmings, which features a black peak and the Wandenreich insignia emblazoned on its front.

猿柿ひよ里

Hiyori is a very short, brown eyed, blonde-haired girl who wears her short hair in spiky pigtails with her bangs clipped together by three clips. She wears a white shirt and a red jogging suit, the latter with white lines running down from the shoulders and decorated with the first kanji of her name, as well as yellow flip flops. Hiyori carries her Zanpakutō on her back. On each cheek, under each of her eyes, she has three freckles. She has an overly long fang protruding from the upper left side of her mouth. This physical characteristic has caused both Ichigo and Shinji to call her "snaggletooth". She appears more haggard and not as sharp as she did during her days in Soul Society, with tired lines under her eyes.

伊勢七緒

Nanao is a slim and youthful girl with long black hair normally kept pinned back, with flat bangs that hang to the right side of her face. Nanao also wears a standard Shinigami Shihakushō. She has slightly light blue eyes that have a deep tint of violet and wears glasses with a slight oval shape to them. As a child, she had rounder glasses with chin-length hair that framed both sides of her face.
