黒崎一護

But, more importantly, he's a Substitute Soul Reaper. Ever since he was young, Ichigo has been able to see spirits, to the point where he could not tell the living from the dead. Due to this oddity, he would end up meeting [Rukia Kuchiki](https://anilist.co/character/6/Rukia-Kuchiki), a Soul Reaper. Soon after, once a hollow appeared and threatened his family, he recklessly fought back against it, forcing Rukia to save him by taking the blow of it's attack. Seeing Ichigo's determination to protect his family, Rukia offered to temporarily turn him into a Soul Reaper by piercing his chest with her Zanpakutou and transferring half of her power to him. Ichigo goes through with it, allowing him to make short work of the Hollow, and forcing him to fulfill Rukia's role as a Soul Reaper until she can regain her powers. Being stubborn, short-tempered, strong-willed, and impulsive, Ichigo often claims not to care about what other people think about him, and attempts to maintain a detached and "cool" image. He generally keeps his face set in a near-permanent scowl, with his eyebrows drawn together. His outspoken, hot-headed demeanor is a trait Ichigo himself has acknowledged, and if somebody picks a fight with him, he cannot help fighting back. Ichigo's resolve in battle can waver at times, which can impede his fighting prowess, and he tends to go into a state of depression and self-loathing when he loses a major fight or lets a friend down. Despite what he lets on, he is genuinely compassionate and empathetic towards others, and doesn't mind helping others when they become upset, or need the support. He is always willing to fight to protect those he cares for, no matter what it is he would be fighting against.

朽木ルキア

After saving him, she is forced to temporarily remain in the human world, using a gigai given to her by [Kisuke Urahara](https://anilist.co/character/210/Kisuke-Urahara) until she can regain her strength and return to the Soul Society. She chooses to live with Ichigo in order to keep an eye on him and have a place to stay. She is also the Lieutenant of the 13th Division of the Gotei 13, serving under Squad Captain [Juushirou Ukitake](https://anilist.co/character/2682/Juushirou-Ukitake). Initially born into a lower class, Rukia retains her modesty, despite being an adopted member of a noble bloodline. She is graceful and "clean", yet is willing to talk to ordinary people. However, her cool and lone demeanor often forces her to hide her personal troubles, even from those close to her. Because of her never opening up her heart, she has difficulty making friends. She can also act like a bit of a tomboy at times, wanting to show others that she's tough and getting aggressive towards others when they insult her. Rukia is clueless about the ways of the modern Human World, often making misconceptions and struggling with the simplest of things like opening a juice box. She likes to climb up to high places and loves everything rabbit-themed, becoming quite sensitive when someone insults her obsession with them. People often have difficulty understanding her drawings, which are typically rabbit-like, and doesn't like it when people complain about their quality.

井上織姫

__Height:__ 157 cm (5'2") Orihime Inoue is a teenage girl who lives by herself in Karakura Town, being a close friend of [Ichigo Kurosaki](https://anilist.co/character/5/Ichigo-Kurosaki). Orihime is alot of things, being friendly, kind, sensitive, and humorous in her own way. She comes off as naive and rather clueless, which is at odds with her exceptionally high marks in school. Although, apparently she is hopeless when it comes to technology. She is also notorious for cooking up and eating strange food at home, although she also likes some normal food. Her favorite food is red bean paste, and she likes putting butter on sweet potatoes. Orihime has a tendency to rush into situations without thinking, sometimes leading to embarrassing consequences, plus she has an overactive imagination and can get carried away thinking of implausible scenarios. Orihime has also demonstrated that she is perceptive, mostly when it comes to Ichigo Kurosaki, who she is deeply in love with. Previously, she had lived with her older brother, [Sora](https://anilist.co/character/27739/Sora-Inoue), who was fifteen years older than her. She and her brother were raised by a drunk father and an unfaithful mother, who always argued and beat their children. It is unknown if her parents are still alive. When Sora turned eighteen, he ran away with Orihime, who was three years old, and raised her since. For six years, Orihime and Sora lived in harmony despite the fact that Orihime was bullied in school because of her long hair. One day, Sora gave Orihime a pair of hairpins. However, Orihime refused to wear them because she said they were childish. On the same day, Sora was wounded in a car accident and died in the Kurosaki clinic. Orihime has worn the hairpins ever since. A year after Sora died, Orihime met [Tatsuki Arisawa](https://anilist.co/character/1094/Tatsuki-Arisawa) who defended her from the bullies. They have been best friends ever since.

阿散井恋次

His personality varies from cocky and eccentric, to being depressed after he's defeated, all the way to being clueless and funny. Although he's carefree and happy character in most of the series, he can be quite serious, especially when it's the matter of life and death situations for either him or people he hold precious. He is shown to have rather complicated relationship with his captain, [Kuchiki Byakuya](https://anilist.co/character/907/Kuchiki-Byakuya). Renji sees Byakuya as the goal he has to surpass. First time, when Renji was still in the Academy, he encountered Byakuya and felt something chilling about him. In the meantime, Renji became Byakuya's lieutenant, and throughout the series, Renji starts to see Byakuya not only as rival, but also as man he can look up to.

石田雨竜

Uryuu is generally shy and quiet, but tries harder to act cool when other people are around. In addition, he also has a tendency to say things with characteristic drama. Uryuu operates on a moral ethic known as the "Pride of the Quincy" and has a strong sense of justice. He has also shown to be very chivalrous, stating that he enacts justice on men who abuse or treat women badly. Uryuu also has a tendency to not use lethal force in battle, especially if he can win without doing so. Instead, he will simply incapacitate his opponent. Uryuu does not hold his father, Ryuuken Ishida, in high respect; he calls his father by his given name which is considered very rude in Japanese society His favorite food is homemade mackerel miso stew. The television program he likes is Don Kanonji's "Bura-Rei."

茶渡泰虎

__Height:__ 197 cm (6'5") Yasutora Sado, or as his friends call him, Chad, is a teenager of Mexican descent who is close friends with [Ichigo Kurosaki](https://anilist.co/character/5/Ichigo-Kurosaki). He is extremely tall and appears to be much older than he actually is. Chad is a quiet person and is sometimes the subject of jokes or bullies because he never fights back, against ordinary humans, or often hollows and Soul Reapers until necessary. Nonetheless, he is treated equally within his group of friends in Karakura (Ichigo, [Keigo](https://anilist.co/character/4227/Asano-Keigo) and [Mizuiro](https://anilist.co/character/9060/Kojima-Mizuiro)). Chad also has a weakness for cute things, like small animals and [Kon](https://anilist.co/character/1089/Kon), and is one of the few characters that actually treats Kon with any dignity but for the most part ignores him. To match his extraordinary size, Chad possesses extraordinary superhuman durability, even before activating his spiritual powers, being able to survive the impact of a falling steel girder on his back and a head-on motorcycle collision, and is strong enough to break telephone poles and wield them as giant clubs, even when already injured. Besides his physical strength, Chad has also shown to be very intelligent; he ranked 10th out of 322 in school, while Ichigo ranked 23rd.

檜佐木修兵

__Height:__ 181 cm (5'11") __Rank:__ Co-Lieutenant of the 9th Division __Zanpakutou:__ Kazeshini (Death Wind) __Shikai Command:__ Kare, Kazeshini (Reap, Kazeshini) Shuuhei is an extremely mature and calm individual, a state that is slightly at odds with his somewhat punk-like appearance. He usually takes responsibility, and tends to avoid violence when possible. He seems to be virtuous, much like his Captain's image; until later, when it was revealed his Captain was a traitor. He is often seen in the company of Renji and Kira. Along with Hinamori, Renji and Kira followed Shūhei as their senpai during their academy days. Omake chapters also show that he is quite perverted.

草鹿八千流

__Race:__ Shinigami __Height:__ 109 cm (3'7") __Rank:__ Lieutenant of the 11th Division __Relatives:__ [Kenpachi Zaraki](https://anilist.co/character/909) (adoptive father) Yachiru is the shortest member of the Gotei 13. She became a shinigami without having taken the standard exams. She is the current Vice-Captain of the 11th division but her strength and powers thus far are unknown. She is also the president of the Shinigami's Women Society. She first met Kenpachi as a baby after he had just killed a group of people. She instantly became drawn to him as she later said that it was as though Kenpachi had used blood to wash away the dark, hopeless, unforgiving world she lived in.

ユーハバッハ

__Affiliation:__ Wandenreich __Occupation:__ Emperor of the Wandenreich The current leader of the Vandenreich, the military organization of the Quincies. About 1000 years ago Yamamoto Genryuusai failed to kill him, although the circumstances remain unknown. During Ichigo Kurosaki's guaranteed absense, Yhwach mobilizes the elite of his army, the Stern Ritter, and invades Soul Society. He gave them the order to kill all the death gods. As the invasion proceeds Yhwach encounters Kenpachi Zaraki and the fight between those two begins. Yhwach easily wins over Kenpachi, commenting how weak he was. Before he manages to finish him off, he is interrupted by enraged Yamamoto.

狛村左陣

__Height:__ 288 cm (9'5½") __Occupation:__ Captain of the 7th Division __Theme Song:__ "Don't Turn Away" by White Wolf Captain of the 7th Division Komamura is the largest normal character in Bleach, being 57 cm taller (288 cm) than his subordinate Jirōbō (the runner-up) and even more physically imposing. The only larger human characters are the Seireitei gatekeepers, who are each roughly thirty feet tall. He is also quite unusual in that he is an anthropomorphic canine; the specific animal is unclear, as he has characteristics of both foxes and wolves. He has been called a "bastard wolf" on occasion by Kenpachi Zaraki, but has red fur like a fox.

有沢竜貴

__Height:__ 155 cm Tatsuki is [Orihime Inoue's](https://anilist.co/character/7/Orihime-Inoue) best friend and is super protective of her, and of all of [Ichigo's](https://anilist.co/character/5/Ichigo-Kurosaki) friends, Tatsuki has known him the longest, having trained together at an afterschool karate class when they were little. She seems to have unnatural strength for a girl and is the star of her Karate team. She even won second in a regional tournament, but only because her arm was injured from being hit by a car. Though Tatsuki eventually becomes able to see ghosts and feel hollows, she never develops any powers of her own. Even though everyone keeps the existence of hollows and their own powers a secret from her, she sometimes catches glimpses of Ichigo in his soul reaper uniform or remembers bits of memory from when she's encountered hollows.

バズビー

Bazz-B is a Quincy and a member of the Vandenreich's Stern Ritter. Upon receiving the orders of [Juhabach](https://anilist.co/character/68537/Yhwach), he and the other Stern Ritter gather at the Gate of the Sun, before traveling to Seireitei in order to participate in the conquest of Soul Society. Once there, he and the other Stern Ritter create pillars of blue flames prior to engaging the Shinigami in battle, allowing members of the 3rd Division to surround his position. As he emerges, Bazz-B ambushes [Lieutenant Izuru Kira](https://anilist.co/character/1093/Kira-Izuru) from afar, destroying a significant part of his right torso and inciting three seated officers to release their Shikai. Simultaneously dispatching [Taketsuna Gori](https://anilist.co/character/72105/Gori-Taketsuna) and [Asuka Katakura](https://anilist.co/character/72107/Katakura-Asuka), he then eliminates [Rikū Togakushi](https://anilist.co/character/72103/Togakushi-Rikuu) with similar ease.

リリネット・ジンジャーバック

__Height:__ 142 cm (4'8") Stark's Fracción is Lilinette, a female arrancar who seems quite mischievous, in that she enjoys waking Stark up in unusual ways: first by shoving her fist in his throat, then by squeezing his testicles. Despite her initially childish behavior, she does seem to show some concern for the ominous occurrences in Hueco Mundo. (Source: Bleach official character book III)

花刈ジン太

Jinta Hanakari is a small, red-haired boy who is supposed to do manual labor for the shop, such as cleaning. Instead he usually slacks off and forces Ururu to do all the work. Though he frequently bullies her, he does care for Ururu as he recovers her body after she is injured by an arrancar. Though he is more knowledgeable than one might expect given his young appearance, he is still childish, calling Renji Abarai a "moocher", and he enjoyed teasing, spitting, and drooling on Ichigo when his Chain of Fate was severed and Ichigo was becoming a hollow in a incapacitated state. Jinta seems to have a crush on Yuzu Kurosaki, calling her "The Goddess" and regarding anything she gives to him as sacred. His primary weapon is an oversized iron rod, similar to a Tetsubo, which he can use to attack. (Source: Wikipedia)

フィンドール・キャリアス

__Height:__ 180 cm (5'11") __Number:__ 24 Findor Carias is an Arrancar in Sōsuke Aizen's army and one of Barragan's five Fracción. An alternate romanization of his name is Findore Klarius He appears to be the most composed member of Barragan's fraccion. He is rather arrogant and confident in his abilities, as shown when he encounters Shūhei Hisagi and states that he will fight at exactly the same power level as a Lieutenant. He is also said to be very chatty and is called a "chatterbox" by Hisagi. Findor seems to be quite intelligent and calculating, being able to guess the average power levels of seated Shinigami officers and even replicate them while fighting. His analytical demeanor is also demonstrated by his habit of saying "exacta" (correct) very often. This stems from his belief that life is nothing but a sequence of difficult problems, and ones ability to make correct choices decides his fate. The remains of his hollow mask consist of a smooth helmet covering the upper half of his face, with eye holes, and a row of teeth sown across his chin like a strap. His hollow hole is not visible. Findor's arrancar outfit vaguely resembles a Spanish soldier and he has customized it with shoulder pads, knee-high boots, and a knife like protrusion on both his sleeves that extend along the top of his hands. Findor appears to be able to summon hollows by whistling as shown when he was ordered to destroy the four pillars that keep the real Karakura Town in Soul Society, though this is, most possibly, an ability shared, but not demonstrated by other high-ranking, Arrancar or even non-arrancar MenosAdjuchas. He first appears along with Barragan and the rest of his Fracción in the fake Karakura Town to do battle with the Gotei 13. Once Aizen, Ichimaru, and Tōsen are blocked off by Yamamoto's shikai, Barragan himself decides to give all orders. Findor is then ordered to summon four gigantic hollows to destroy the four pillars that keep the real Karakura Town in Soul Society. The hollows are killed however by Shūhei Hisagi, Izuru Kira, Yumichika Ayasegawa and Ikkaku Madarame, who are protecting the pillars. In response, Barragan sends each member of his Fracción to a different pillar stating that if they are going to guard them using ants he'll just have to send dragons to crush them. ~! Findor is sent to do battle with Shūhei Hisagi. The two duel for a while before Hisagi comments that his power appears only at that of a fifth seat. Findor replies that he has passed this test and he will now fight at a lieutenant's level. Using the knife attached to his wrist he begins breaking off fragments of his mask increasing his power each time, finally breaking off half saying he is at lieutenant level. After fighting for some time Findor finds that Shūhei isn't fighting at the level he believes to be lieutenant as Shūhei is the only one that is tired. Wanting to finish the battle, Findor releases his zanpakutō. After fighting for a while longer he forces Shū

国枝鈴

One of Ichigo Kurosaki's classmates at Karakura High School and is a first year track & field star. As Kon learned the hard way, she can run 100 meters in 12 seconds. Ryō also loves to read and is very bright, and is always found with a book. She envies Orihime Inoue and works hard in order to surpass her. Ryō ranks second in her grade on the school exams at Karakura High School. Ryō excels in both literal and martial arts. Chizuru also mentions that Ryo was the representative for the freshman class, which is why she's never lectured by Karakura High's faculty. She is somewhat cold and snobby, showing no concern over Uryū Ishida's wounds after his fight with a Menos Grande, saying (to herself) she'd prefer to walk alone rather than with Michiru and Chizuru, stepping on Kon, calling him "a filthy stuffed animal", and almost never makes eye-contact even when talking with others. Ryō hardly ever smiles and has only been shown doing so twice.

可城丸秀朝

ロイド・ロイド

Loyd Lloyd (ロイド・ロイド, Roido Roido) is a Quincy and a member of the Vandenreich's Stern Ritter with the designation "Y". Loyd is one of three Stern Ritter to confront Captain Kenpachi Zaraki during the invasion's initial stages. However, according to Zaraki's account, despite presenting the most difficulty after using his ability to assume the captain's likeness, Loyd is inevitably cut down once Zaraki became stronger than his imitation. Zaraki later carries Loyd's corpse atop his shoulders, alongside those of the others, before unceremoniously presenting it in front of Juhabach. ~!From birth, Loyd and his younger brother, Royd, were indistinguishable from one another, even to the medical staff that delivered them and their own parents. By the age of 5, the brothers realized the reason behind them being perfectly identical, was that they had both unconsciously begun to imitate the other before being born. When they were 12 years old, they found that they could not only imitate one another, but other people as well. While they could both imitate the appearances of others, only Loyd could replicate their powers and techniques.!~

They are two very short, obese Arrancar who are almost identical in appearance, except for their hairstyle: Verona has a short black pony tail, while Lumina has black pigtails.

シャズ・ドミノ

Shaz Domino is a Quincy and a member of the Stern Ritter. During the invasion on Soul Society Shaz attacks SRDI. ~!However, he is quickly defeated by Ichigo after Akon reopens the garganta.!~

グランドフィッシャー

__Height:__ 342 cm Grand Fisher is a hollow that had evaded the shinigami for over 50 years and is responsible for the death of Ichigo's mother, Masaki Kurosaki. In the anime, he prefers to eat women, which is why he killed Ichigo's mother; in the manga, he prefers to eat children, and Ichigo's mother merely got in the way. In hollow form, he resembles a giant hamster with bird-like hands and feet and a tentacle-like limb that hangs from his forehead, similar to the esca (lure) of an angler fish. The lure is vaguely human-sized and can be transformed to resemble anyone Grand Fisher wishes, usually taking the appearance of one of his previous victims. It can act independently of Grand Fisher, and as long as either the lure or Grand Fisher himself survives, he cannot be purified. As a hollow, Grand Fisher's preferred method of fighting shinigami involves using his angler to keep opponents at bay, rather than attract them as it would normally be used. By transforming the angler into a decoy copy of someone close to his enemy, he can keep them from attacking, since they will be unwilling to harm the decoy. He can also grow his hair and fingers into spikes to stab enemies, or use them to restrain an opponent. Grand Fisher explains that when his hair and claws are used as spikes to stab an enemy, they also absorb the memories of that particular enemy, hence his ability to use the lure to create a copy of their loved ones or friends and use their image as a shield. Outside combat, his angler is used like its namesake, allowing him to distinguish those with high spiritual power from common humans and devour them. After his defeat by Ichigo, Grand Fisher is turned into an imperfect arrancar by Iceringer and used by Aizen as an experimental subject. In arrancar form, he resembles a larger, more humanoid version of his old self with a tattooed face poking out from between his jawbones. He carries a large zanpakutō on his back, which is almost as tall as a two-story building. By unsheathing it, he transforms into a huge, monstrous creature with bull-like horns, and his zanpakutō becomes the size of a skyscraper. He returns to the human world to kill Ichigo, but instead is killed by Ichigo's father, Isshin Kurosaki.

アイスリンガー

Iceringer is either an incomplete arrancar or one that never learned how (or cared how) to seal his power in a form of a Zanpakutō, stating that he abandoned human form for greater power. He has four arms, each with three fingers that he uses to shot his Uňa Tirotear from. His Hollow mask is in the shape of a beak with only the upper-left quarter of his mask showing his face. While he does not appear to have legs he is able to use Sonido and his speed is able to match that of Uryū Ishida Hirenkyaku. Source: Bleach Wiki

Kaneda is a young boy who goes at the same school as Yuzu Kurosaki and Karin Kurosaki. He doesn't like Karin much because of her nasty reputation. He likes to play video games with his friends Hashigami and Ino than doing gym class. He's fat and has black hairs. While playing video games, he, Hashigami and Ino were spooked by Kon while the latter possessed Ichigo Kurosaki's body. When they tried to tell their gym class teacher what happened, their teacher didn't believe them and send them into detention. They were saved from a Hollow attack by Kon moments later.

一貫坂慈楼坊

Former 4th Seat Officer of the Seventh Division. He is the younger Brother of Jidanbō Ikkanzaka. He was known as the "Kamaitachi," which means the greatest airborne weapon or Wind-scythe. Jirōbō is a very boastful man, talking the entire time during his fight with Ishida simply about how they should give up since he is the greatest projectile expert and so on. He is also very cowardly. Jirōbō attempted to kill Orihime while she did not notice, and upon realizing the difference of power between Ishida and himself, attempted once again to either injure or capture her. This placed him at odds with the chivalrous Quincy, resulting in the loss of his abilities.
