牧野つくし

Tsukushi Makino (牧野 つくし (まきの つくし) , Makino Tsukushi) was a student at Eitoku Academy. She was the daughter of Chieko and Haruo, and the older sister of Susumu. During her second year of high school, Tsukushi clashed with the F4 leader, Tsukasa Domyoji. She hated him at first, but they became friends and eventually entered into a romantic relationship. However, due to the differences in their social status, the couple faced many obstacles.

美作あきら

Akira Mimasaka (美作 あきら (みまさか あきら) , Mimasaka Akira) was a member of the F4, consisting of his friends Tsukasa Domyoji, Rui Hanazawa, and Sojiro Nishikado. Being the most mature, Akira held the F4 together. His family consisted of his father, mother, and twin sisters, Emu and Memu. Akira was also known for his interest in older women.

大河原滋

Shigeru Okawahara (大河原 滋 (おおかわはら しげる) , Ōkawahara Shigeru) was a student at Eirin Academy and the heiress of Okawahara Corporation. Her parents arranged her engagement to Tsukasa Domyoji. Shigeru developed feelings for Tsukasa, but they ultimately parted ways. She then supported him being with Tsukushi Makino, whom she had befriended.

織部順平

Junpei Oribe (織部 順平 (おりべ じゅんぺい) , Oribe Junpei) was a former student at Eitoku Academy. He used the name Jun (ジュン () , Jun) when he was working as a model for Treasures. Junpei was the younger brother of Shingo Oribe, a former classmate of Tsukushi Makino. He became close to Tsukushi in order to get revenge on Tsukasa Domyoji.

Kazuya Aoike (青池 和也 (あおいけ かずや) , Aoike Kazuya) was a friend of Tsukushi Makino, whom he had known since grade school. They were reunited when he transferred to Eitoku Academy during his second year of high school. He had romantic feelings for Tsukushi but never pursued her. Only recently becoming rich, Kazuya often referred to his family as "nouveau riche."

道明寺楓

Kaede Domyoji (道明寺 楓 (どうみょうじ かえで) , Dōmyōji Kaede) was the chairwoman of Domyoji Group and the manager of The Maple Hotel, a chain of luxury hotels. She was the mother of Tsubaki and Tsukasa Domyoji. Kaede lived with her husband in New York. They rarely returned to their home in Japan. She opposed her son's relationship with Tsukushi Makino, seeing it as a liability, and became a major opponent in keeping them apart.

トーマス

Thomas (トーマス (とーます) , Tōmasu) was a childhood friend of Sakurako Sanjo. He was of mixed Japanese and German heritage. In Japan, Thomas boarded with the Sanjo family and was also given pocket money by Sakurako. He helped Sakurako with her scheme to hurt Tsukushi Makino. After being deported, Thomas moved to New York City.
