Aya Mikage is the main character in Ceres: Celestial Legend. She is the direct descendant and modern-day reincarnation of the supremely powerful and beautiful celestial maiden (ten'nyo or angel) Ceres.

セレス

Ceres is an ancient and supremely powerful tennyo/tennini ( also known as a "celestial maiden" an "angel") whom Shiso Mikagi had stolen her hagoromo (celestial robe or "mana") and forced to marry him and bear his children. After her physical body had perished years ago, her spirit was reborn, it was reincarnated in the daughters of the Mikage family many times and her current host is a sixteen-year-old girl named Aya Mikage.

梧雄飛

Yūhi is a typical teenager in that he has mood swings and harbours a deep crush on Aya. He cares deeply for those he cares about but carries a profound sadness that came with a difficult childhood. He is an excellent cook, and is also proficient in martial arts and the use of chopsticks as a weapon. He has a slightly outdated taste in music, suggesting he is a bit of an indie boy, and Aya makes fun of him for this. He dreams of owning his own restaurant after high school.

梧納涼

Suzumi Aogiri is the sister-in-law of Yuuhi Aogiri who is also a descendant of a tennyo and possesses strong psionic and extrasensory powers; mainly telekinesis, and premonition. Her maiden name is Sakuradai and she comes from the Hyōgo Prefecture.

御景明

Aki Mikage (御景明) is the nice-guy twin brother of Aya Mikage, and the reincarnation of Shiso Mikagi, the founder of the Mikage line.

来間千鳥

Chidori Kuruma is a C-Genomer with mixed blood of human and celestial beings. She is quite protective of her younger brother, Shouta. She develops romantic feelings for Yūhi, but dies before she can fully confess them to him.

御景各臣

Kagami Mikage is a cousin of Aya and Aki Mikage and the CEO of Mikage International. He was formerly head of the company's research and development team, and through this, he masterminds the C-Project, a plan to further his own agenda through the descendants of tennyo.

小田玖

Kyu Oda, or Mrs. Q, is the Aogiri's household help, she is a gnome-like woman known for her reckless driving and ridiculously ugly appearance, despite her consistent claims that she is a beautiful woman. She's convinced that she and Toya are made for each other.

始祖·ミ始祖·ミカギ

Shiso Mikagi (lit. Founder Mikagi) is the founder of the Mikage family, and the husband of a heavenly angel named Ceres. Due to his unintended corruption at Ceres' hands and his following actions which haves ruined many innocents, even those of his own family, in both the first and second life, he could be considered the tragic main antagonist of the series.
