Flame of Recca

花菱烈火

Recca Hanabishi (花菱 烈火 Hanabishi Rekka) is a super-powered teen who is obsessed with ninjas, not knowing he is one himself. Being a descendant of the leading line of the Hokage, Recca has the ability to create Fire. The adopted son of a fireworks manufacturer, he sometimes employs small incendiary devices or smoke bombs in combination with his elemental power to distract his enemies. He is the biological son of Oka and Kagero.

霧沢風子

Fūko Kirisawa (霧沢 風子, Kirisawa Fūko) is a fictional character in the Japanese anime/manga Flame of Recca. She's a tough, tomboyish girl who enjoys fighting, but hides her feminime qualities. She's the quickest member of Team Hokage and fights with darts called 'Kiri' and the madōgu, Fūjin, which further enhances her speed attacks and allows her to control the wind. Her voice actress is Akiko Hiramatsu. In the English and Filipino version, she was voiced by Onalea Gilbertson and Dada Carlos respectively.

紅麗

Kurei (紅麗, Mori Kurei) is the son of Resshin and Reina (Resshin's mistress) and the older half-brother Recca Hanabishi. Like Recca, Kurei possesses the ability to produce and manipulate flames, but his flames are shown to be of a different color than Recca's. Due to the fact that his flame's main form is that of a Phoenix, Kurei also has the ability to absorb the souls of deceased humans into his flame and make them fight for him (the prime example of this being Kurenai). Although initially introduced as an antagonist, Kurei becomes more of an anti-hero as the series progresses.

水鏡凍季也

Tokiya Mikagami (水鏡凍季也, Mikagami Tokiya) is the oldest member of Team Hokage. He owns Ensui, a sword that uses water. Mikagami's goal is to find his sister's murderer, because she was killed in front of his eyes. He is very protective when it comes to Yanagi Sakoshita, because she reminds him of his older sister who was murdered. He is known as Dylan in the Filipino dub of the anime.

佐古下柳

Yanagi Sakoshita (佐古下柳, Sakoshita Yanagi) is a fictional character from the manga and anime series, Flame of Recca. She has the innate ability to heal any physical injuries and is referred to by Recca Hanabishi as his "hime" (princess).

小金井薰

Kaoru Koganei (小金井薰, Koganei Kaoru) is the youngest member of Team Hokage. He used to work for the Uruha, but quit after Kurei hurt Yanagi.

影子

Kagerou (陽炎, Kagerō), also known as Kage Houshi (影法師, Kage Hōshi) in the beginning of the manga, is the mother of Recca Hanabishi who obtained immortality when she sent Recca (and accidentally Kurei) to the future by using a forbidden spell during the battle between the Hokage and Nobunaga's army.

石島土門

Domon Ishijima (石島土門, Ishijima Domon) is one of the protagonists in the anime and manga Flame of Recca. He is first introduced as Recca Hanabishi's rival, but teams up with him later on when they had to rescue Fūko Kirisawa. Nobuo Tobita provides his voice in the original Japanese version of the anime, while Adam Hunter and Montreal Repuyan provide his voice in the English and Filipino versions respectively.

近藤さん

Kondo is Ganko's stuffed fox doll. Although Ganko does not use the Kata Kugutsu to bring him to life in the manga, she uses it on him in the anime series, and he speaks with a Kansai accent. He was voiced by Tōru Ōkawa in the Japanese version.

森川願子

Ganko Morikawa (森川 願子 Morikawa Ganko) is a small girl whose name means "stubborn". She was also know as "Primera". Like Kaoru, she was once allied with Kurei until she was defeated by Fūko. She has the ability to control marionettes using the madōgu Kata Kugutsu. Later, she goes on to live with Fūko and is left behind when the Hokage go off to join the Ura Butō Satsujin. In the anime, she accompanies the Hokage to the tournament along with accompanied with her doll, Kondo.
