神山満月

Mitsuki Kouyama (神山 満月 Kōyama Mitsuki) is the main protagonist of Full Moon o Sagahite, and the 12-year-old granddaughter of Fuzuki Kouyama and the daughter of Aoi Koga and Hazuki Kouyama. She dreams of becoming a pop singer and has a tumor in her throat which not only restricts her ability to sing, but it will end her life in one year. With the help of Takuto Kira and Meroko Yui, the shinigami assigned to collect her soul, she is able to transform into a 16-year-old to fulfill her dream with her remaining time.

タクト・キラ

Takuto has black hair which is tied back in a short ponytail and blue eyes. In his Shinigami clothes he is seen in a short black shirt with long sleeves, a blue hoodie with a swirl on it, a gray backpack that has his wings on it, blue jeans and a black belt, white gloves with blue stripes at the end with a picture of his cat form on them, and a cat hat. He wears his long bangs through the front opening of his hat as though it is a backwards baseball cap.It is revealed in a short story in the manga that Meroko is the one who made this outfit for him. In the anime, this is not mentioned. Takuto can also be seen wearing casual clothing, though these are also of blue shades. It can be assumed that is his favorite color. When he is in his cat form he looks like a cat plushie. The design is very simple, bearing resemblance to a Sanrio character. In the manga, he sleeps with his hair untied but never unties it in the anime. As a child, he has shorter hair and sometimes wears a baseball hat.

めろこ・ユイ

Meroko Yui (めろこ·ユイ), known as Moe Rikyou (里匡 Rikyō Moe) when she was once alive as a human. Her name changes when she dies and becomes a Shinigami for the Death Pediatrics Ward.

Izumi Rio (いずみ·リオ), known as Rio Izumi (泉利緒 Izumi Rio) when he was once alive as a human. His name changed when he died and became a Shinigami for the Death Pediatrics Ward.

ジョナサン

Jonathan (ジョナサン Jonasan) is a Shinigami, who became Izumi Rio's new partner. In the manga, he is really Sheldan (シェルダン部長 Sherudan-buchō), who is the head of the Death Pediatrics Ward.

桜井英知

Eichi is a sixteen-year-old boy with golden brown hair and brown eyes. He is tall, wears a white button shirt and blue jeans in Mitsuki's flashbacks.

Keiichi Wakaouji (若王子 圭一 Wakaōji Keiichi) is Mitsuki's doctor and guardian, Fullmoon's current producer, and former keyboardist of ROUTE: L.

Chisato Kurebayashi (暮林 千暁 Kurebayashi Chisato), better known by her stage name Madoka Wakamatsu (若松 円 Wakamatsu Madoka), is a singer and notable rival of Fullmoon.

Aoi Koga (古雅 葵 Koga Aoi) was a former guitarist, songwriter and leader of ROUTE: L, the late husband of Hazuki Kouyama and the late father of Mitsuki Kouyama.
