Medaka Box

Kurokami Medaka, a first year, is elected as Student Council President, and the first thing she does is establish a suggestion box. Since she was just elected as Student Council President, she's holding all the Student Council's responsibilities, and wearing their armbands. So she asks for her childhood friend, Hitoyoshi Zenkichi, for help.
After filtering through the suggestions, which were mostly ridiculous complaints or congratulations on becoming president, they find out the Judo Club needs one more member to participate. So, Medaka volunteers her and Zenkichi, who have both been practicing Judo for years, to help train the club and borrow Zenkichi for the match.

Medaka Kurokami

MAINMedaka Kurokami (黒神 めだか, Kurokami Medaka) is the female protagonist of the series Medaka Box. A freshman of Class 13, she was the 98th and later 99th Student Council president of Hakoniwa Academy. She is a childhood friend of Zenkichi Hitoyoshi, who she strong-arms into joining the Student Council at the start of the series. After becoming the head of the Kurokami Group, Medaka also becomes the chairwoman of Hakoniwa Academy. She is the child of Kajiki Kurokami and Hato Tsurubami, and the younger sister of Kujira Kurokami and Maguro Kurokami.

Zenkichi Hitoyoshi

MAINZenkichi Hitoyoshi (人吉 善吉, Hitoyoshi Zenkichi) is the male protagonist of the series Medaka Box. He is a freshman and later junior of Class 1, and a childhood friend of Medaka Kurokami, who strong-arms him into joining the Student Council as the general affairs manager. He later becomes the 100th Student Council president. He is the son of Hitomi Hitoyoshi.

SUPPORTINGHansode Shiranui (不知火 半袖, Shiranui Hansode) is a freshman and later junior of Class -13, originally of Class 1, and Zenkichi Hitoyoshi's best friend. She is the granddaughter of Hakama Shiranui. A member of the Shiranui Household, Shiranui serves as Medaka Kurokami's double until the end of the Jet Black Wedding Feast, after which she is chosen to become the next Iihiko Shishime.

SUPPORTINGMyouri Unzen (雲仙 冥利, Unzen Myouri) is the chairman of the Public Morals Committee, a position that has earned him the nickname Monster Child (モンスターチャイルド, Monsutā Chairudo) from the student body. He is a junior of Class 13 and a former member of the Flask Plan's Thirteen Party. He is the younger brother of Myouga Unzen. Unzen is the chief antagonist of the Student Council Executive Arc.
