Medaka Box

球磨川禊

Misogi Kumagawa (球磨川 禊, Kumagawa Misogi) is a senior of Class -13 and its first student. An executive member of Class -13, he is the center of the new Flask Plan, as well as the leader of the new Student Council created to oppose Medaka Kurokami. Kumagawa is the chief antagonist of the Kumagawa Incident Arc. After being defeated and reformed by Medaka, he joins her Student Council as its vice-president. Kumagawa is the protagonist of the Medaka Box sub-series, Good Loser Kumagawa Gaiden.

黒神めだか

Medaka Kurokami (黒神 めだか, Kurokami Medaka) is the female protagonist of the series Medaka Box. A freshman of Class 13, she was the 98th and later 99th Student Council president of Hakoniwa Academy. She is a childhood friend of Zenkichi Hitoyoshi, who she strong-arms into joining the Student Council at the start of the series. After becoming the head of the Kurokami Group, Medaka also becomes the chairwoman of Hakoniwa Academy. She is the child of Kajiki Kurokami and Hato Tsurubami, and the younger sister of Kujira Kurokami and Maguro Kurokami.

安心院なじみ

Najimi Ajimu (安心院 なじみ, Ajimu Najimi) is the founder of Hakoniwa Academy and the creator of the Flask Plan. Her partner is Hanten Shiranui. The leader of the Not Equals, Ajimu has been absent for three years after being sealed by Misogi Kumagawa. After Medaka Kurokami's success in reforming Kumagawa, the seal has weakened, whereupon Ajimu is set loose. Ajimu is the chief antagonist of the Kurokami Medaka's Successor Arc.

人吉善吉

Zenkichi Hitoyoshi (人吉 善吉, Hitoyoshi Zenkichi) is the male protagonist of the series Medaka Box. He is a freshman and later junior of Class 1, and a childhood friend of Medaka Kurokami, who strong-arms him into joining the Student Council as the general affairs manager. He later becomes the 100th Student Council president. He is the son of Hitomi Hitoyoshi.

不知火半袖

Hansode Shiranui (不知火 半袖, Shiranui Hansode) is a freshman and later junior of Class -13, originally of Class 1, and Zenkichi Hitoyoshi's best friend. She is the granddaughter of Hakama Shiranui. A member of the Shiranui Household, Shiranui serves as Medaka Kurokami's double until the end of the Jet Black Wedding Feast, after which she is chosen to become the next Iihiko Shishime.

名瀬夭歌

Youka Naze (名瀬 夭歌, Naze Youka), real name Kujira Kurokami (黒神 くじら, Kurokami Kujira), is a junior and later senior of Class 13 and a former member of the Flask Plan's Thirteen Party. Her project name is Black White (黒い包帯ブラックホワイト, Burakku Howaito). She later becomes the vice-president of Zenkichi Hitoyoshi's Student Council. She is the child of Kajiki Kurokami and Nashi Kurokami, and the middle of Kajiki's three children; younger than Maguro Kurokami, but older than Medaka Kurokami.

喜界島もがな

Mogana Kikaijima (喜界島 もがな, Kikaijima Mogana) is a freshman and later junior of Class 11. She is a member of the Swimming Club, and is later hired as the treasurer for Medaka Kurokami's Student Council.

阿久根高貴

Kouki Akune (阿久根 高貴, Akune Kouki) is a junior and later senior of Class 11. He was formerly a member of the Judo Club, but later became the secretary for Medaka Kurokami's Student Council. He has since left the Student Council and returned to the Judo Club.

もがみ

Mogami (もがみ) is the infant son of Mogana Kikaijima, born at some time before the tenth anniversary of Najimi Ajimu's disappearance.

長者原融通

Tokemichi Choujabaru (長者原 融通, Choujabaru Tokemichi) is a junior of Class 13 and vice-chairman of the Election Management Committee.
