Medaka Kurokami

黒神めだか

Medaka Kurokami (黒神 めだか, Kurokami Medaka) is the female protagonist of the series Medaka Box. A freshman of Class 13, she was the 98th and later 99th Student Council president of Hakoniwa Academy. She is a childhood friend of Zenkichi Hitoyoshi, who she strong-arms into joining the Student Council at the start of the series. After becoming the head of the Kurokami Group, Medaka also becomes the chairwoman of Hakoniwa Academy. She is the child of Kajiki Kurokami and Hato Tsurubami, and the younger sister of Kujira Kurokami and Maguro Kurokami.

Misogi Kumagawa

球磨川禊

Misogi Kumagawa (球磨川 禊, Kumagawa Misogi) is a senior of Class -13 and its first student. An executive member of Class -13, he is the center of the new Flask Plan, as well as the leader of the new Student Council created to oppose Medaka Kurokami. Kumagawa is the chief antagonist of the Kumagawa Incident Arc. After being defeated and reformed by Medaka, he joins her Student Council as its vice-president. Kumagawa is the protagonist of the Medaka Box sub-series, Good Loser Kumagawa Gaiden.

Najimi Ajimu

安心院なじみ

Najimi Ajimu (安心院 なじみ, Ajimu Najimi) is the founder of Hakoniwa Academy and the creator of the Flask Plan. Her partner is Hanten Shiranui. The leader of the Not Equals, Ajimu has been absent for three years after being sealed by Misogi Kumagawa. After Medaka Kurokami's success in reforming Kumagawa, the seal has weakened, whereupon Ajimu is set loose. Ajimu is the chief antagonist of the Kurokami Medaka's Successor Arc.

Kouki Akune

阿久根高貴

Kouki Akune (阿久根 高貴, Akune Kouki) is a junior and later senior of Class 11. He was formerly a member of the Judo Club, but later became the secretary for Medaka Kurokami's Student Council. He has since left the Student Council and returned to the Judo Club.

Maguro Kurokami

黒神真黒

Maguro Kurokami (黒神 真黒, Kurokami Maguro) is a former student of Class 13 and a former member of the Flask Plan's Thirteen Party. His project name was Magician (魔法使い, Mahoutsukai). He is currently the manager of Ghost Babel, Hakoniwa Academy's old school building. He is the eldest child of Kajiki Kurokami, and the older brother of Kujira Kurokami and Medaka Kurokami.

Kudaki Torai

虎居砕

Kudaki Torai (虎居 砕, Torai Kudaki) is a junior and later senior of Class 10, and the general affairs manager of Zenkichi Hitoyoshi's Student Council.
