Shizuno Takakamo

高鴨穏乃

Shizuno Takakamo (高鴨 穏乃) is a first year at Achiga Girls' Academy and the main protagonist of the side-A story. In sixth grade she befriends Nodoka Haramura and together they play mahjong in the school's childrens mahjong club. She was the club's third best player. When seeing Nodoka's success after she transfered, she makes going to the nationals and playing against Nodoka her goal.

Ako Atarashi

新子憧

Ako Atarashi (新子 憧 Atarashi Ako) is a first year at Achiga Girls' School, and a protagonist in the spinoff manga, Saki Achiga Hen episode of side A. She is an elementary-school friend of Shizuno Takakamo and Nodoka Haramura, but she went to a different middle school so she could play mahjong and the younger sister of Nozomi Atarashi, a former teammate of Harue Akado during their time at Achiga.

Kuro Matsumi

松実玄

Kuro Matsumi (松実 玄, Matsumi Kuro) is a protagonist in the spinoff Saki Achiga-hen episode of side-A. She is a second year at Achiga Girls' Academy and the younger sister if Yuu Matsumi who was the children's mahjong club's number one player before it was disbanded. Afterwards, she kept the room clean for two years in hopes that someone would show up and they could have fun together like they used to.

Yuu Matsumi

松実宥

Yuu Matsumi is a third year at Achiga Girls' Academy and a protagonist in the spinoff manga Saki Achiga Hen episode of side A. She is the daughter of Tsuyuko Matsumi and the older sister of Kuro Matsumi who is the fourth member to join the new mahjong club.

Arata Sagimori

Arata Sagimori (鷺森 灼 Sagimori Arata) is a second year at Achiga Girls' Academy and a protagonist in the spin-off manga Saki Achiga Hen episode of side A. She is the last member to join the mahjong team.

Harue Akado

赤土晴絵

Harue Akado (赤土 晴絵 Akado Harue) is the coach of her alma mater Achiga Girls' Academy's mahjong team and is a protagonist in the spinoff Saki Achiga-hen episode of side-A . Harue was once known as the "Legend of Achiga" and lead her team as vanguard to the semi-finals of the 61st inter high. She has been a professional mahjong player, having advanced to the playoffs as a member of the Hakata Evergreens corporation team.

Mihoko Fukuji

Mihoko Fukuji (福路 美穂子, Fukuji Mihoko) is a Kazekoshi Girls' High School student and the captain/ace of their mahjong team.

Sumire Hirose

Sumire Hirose (弘世 菫, Hirose Sumire) is a third year at Shiraitodai High and the president of the mahjong club who is a friend of Teru Miyanaga and the only person known to Teru who seems to have had prior knowledge of Saki's existence.

Yae Kobashiri (小走 やえ) is a third year at Bansei High and the president of the mahjong club who is Nara Prefecture's current individual tournament champion.

Sophia Arai

In her second round match, she was defeated by Toki Onjouji but managed to place second. When her team didn't advance to the next round, she is shown handing a water to Keiko Yagihara in the hall way.
