Shiori was born and raised in Manoyama, but unlike most girls who would quickly choose to move to the city after high school, Shiori has shown great interest in the town and has been helping the townsfolk as a member of the Tourism Board.

Ririko is the granddaughter of Chitose Oribe who hates rural Manoyama, but she doesn't have the courage to strike out. When she was young child, Ririko never had any friends and is anxious towards strangers, that is until meeting Shiori Shinomiya at school, since then they had been best friends. After graduating high school, Ririko hasn't been able to find a proper job that she has resorted to locking herself up in her house and surfing the net every day, but when Yoshino arrived, Ririko is now out of the house and helping out Yoshino and her friends, its later reviled that Ririko came to visit Manoyama to study Mythological Creatures.

香月早苗

Sanae is a woman who made the move to the countryside half a year before Yoshino, and is very conscious about appearing interesting to other people. She was born and raised in Tokyo, and got a job at an I.T. company after graduating college, but she eventually quit. She longed for a healthy lifestyle of conservation and sustainability, and began renting an old Japanese-style house. She does web design for a living.

Chitose is often depicted as an aloof elderly lady who rarely trusts anyone, even to the point that the friendly Shiori Shinomiya sometimes hesitates in meeting her directly. She also tends to treat outsiders rudely, especially if they are associated with Ushimatsu in any way. Somehow, her grudge against Ushimatsu goes to such a point where she would devise ways to humiliate him.
