SUPPORTINGUran is Astro's younger sister and a major recurring protagonist in the Astro Boy franchise. She was created by Professor Ochanomizu, based off Astro's own blueprints, and presented to Astro as a birthday gift, or New Year's gift, depending on which series. Uran often finds herself getting into trouble and causing trouble for Astro. She possesses a part of Astro's strength but none of his combat powers, and her most common power is the ability to talk with animals. Due to how closely she resembles her brother, Uran is very rarely a player in the Osamu Tezuka Star System, and mainly appears in the numerous Astro Boy series.

SUPPORTINGShunsaku "Higeoyaji" Ban is a recurring character in the Astro Boy franchise and the Osamu Tezuka Star System. He is one of Tezuka's first characters and always appears as a loud-spoken, hardboiled devotee to justice.

SUPPORTINGAcetylene Lamp is a reoccurring character from the Osamu Tezuka Star System. He is a tough, imposing man usually associated with big business or the law. Lamp appears in Tezuka's works mostly as a villain, especially in Astro Boy canon, where he has appeared in almost every series to date.

SUPPORTINGAtlas is a powerful but dangerous young robot. He is rebellious and refuses to be controlled, especially not by humans. In many ways, Atlas is Astro's opposite, often being Astro's rival and a superior to Astro. Atlas appears in various forms throughout the Astro Boy franchise, but has an especially prominent role in the 1980 anime series and 2003 anime series.
