The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap

Link's debut occurred in the 1986 action-adventure title The Legend of Zelda, released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (originally in Japan on the Family Computer Disk System). Since that inaugural appearance, he has been a constant presence in virtually all mainline entries in the franchise, with the sole exceptions being the Japan-exclusive Satellaview titles, which are regarded as non-canonical.

ゼルダ

The mortal incarnation of the Goddess Hylia, Zelda was chosen by destiny to be the keeper of the Triforce of Wisdom, which is the main reason she plays such an integral role in the legends of Hyrule, much like Link does with the Triforce of Courage or Ganon with the Triforce of Power. Just like the former, Princess Zelda is not a single individual within the franchise, but rather various individuals incarnated with the same name that have appeared across the history of Hyrule. Unlike Link, however, all of the iterations of the character belong to the same familial bloodline. Like Ganon, she also has had a couple of alter-egos such as Sheik and Tetra. Whilst each Zelda is distinct, the "fundamental soul" of the character Hylia has endured throughout each generation.

Vaati appears in Four Swords as a mage that kidnaps many beautiful maidens and brings them to his Palace in the sky. He no longer has memories of his life as a Minish. At that moment, a hero wielding the legendary Four Sword appeared. Using the Sword, he split his body in four to defeat Vaati and seal him away inside the Four Sword in the Four Sword Sanctuary.

While trapped in his cursed cap form, Ezlo takes on the look of a humble green cap — strikingly similar to the very one Link is famous for wearing — yet there's something unmistakably alive about it. Nestled into the fabric is a curious, bird-like face, complete with a pair of sharp, watchful eyes and a large, prominent yellow beak that gives him an air of grumpy wisdom rather than ordinary headwear. Two small leaf-like protrusions, almost resembling stubby wings or ears, poke out from either side of the cap, hinting at the magical, sentient being hidden within. Despite his unassuming size and plain coloring, there's a certain dignified, ancient quality to his design — a visual reminder that this is no ordinary piece of clothing, but a once-great sorcerer bound by a cruel transformation, forced to ride atop the hero's head until his curse can be broken.

Festari is a Forest Picori who guards the entrance to Deepwood Shrine from his abbey in the northern section of Minish Village. He is the only Forest Picori who speaks Human languages; however, it is unknown if he is the only Minish that can do so. Festari directs Link to the location of the Jabber Nut, an item that allows Link to speak and understand the Picori Language. After Link finds and eats the Jabber Nut, Festari directs him to speak to the Minish elder, Gentari. After Link speaks with Gentari, Festari will move aside and allow him access to Deepwood Shrine, warning him about the monsters inside. After Link obtains the Earth Element from Deepwood Shrine, Festari expresses his amazement at Link's success.

Sensei first appears on Page 3, where she was taking care of Peter’s injuries after Buriki’s spaceship crashed on his truck while he was working. When she first meets Tingle, she gets terrified for his odd appearance, and quickly departs.
