Dororo

百鬼丸

Hyakkimaru (百鬼丸, Hyakkimaru) is the main protagonist of the Dororo series. He is a ronin searching for parts of his body that were stolen from him by demons and slaying said demons. The demons originally took his body parts as part of a pact with his father and archenemy. After learning the entire truth from his mother, Lady Nui, he vows to kill his own father in retribution, even his somewhat warmhearted fifteen-year-old younger brother, and regain all of his missing body parts. He is accompanied on his harsh journey by a young orphaned thief named Dororo.

どろろ

Dororo (どろろ, Dororo) is the titular character and deuteragonist of the show. He is a young orphaned thief, who wanders around all on his own seeking opportunities to steal and cause troubles. After Dororo was rescued by Hyakkimaru from a demon, he joins him in his travels and adventure.

未央

She was killed by troops sent by the order of Hyakkimaru's father, Kagemitsu Daigo on suspicion of her being an enemy spy.

醍醐多宝丸

オコワ

Okowa is a cheerful girl, but with a childish attitude. Nevertheless, she is understanding in her father's work and greatly admires him. She is also easily flushed.

おかか

Okaka (おかか, Okaka) was a young lady who lived in a small cottage which Dororo and Hyakkimaru encountered along their journey. She initially appeared to be a kind, compassionate individual, allowing the two to stay in her cottage for shelter. However, she was, in truth, the spirit of a Buddha Statue carver who lived a very long time ago. She was resurrected by a vengeful spirit that resides within the stone Fudo Buddha statue which she carved in her previous life, to find a perfect face for it.

鐘小僧

サブロータ

Saburota is a samurai that wears yellow sleeves and brown pants for his outfit. He has scar marks on his chest after being slashed by the demon.

Very little is known about Kaname's early life, but when he was a small boy, his father (who appears to have been a samurai) was killed following a battle with the Shiba clan. His father didn't die on the battlefield itself however, instead he was crucified by one of Lord Shiba's followers, as a warning to the latter's enemies. Kaname found the corpse after the battle and was deeply traumatized by the experience. His mother was killed in the same attack, leaving Kaname an orphan.

僧侶

The monk was in the Hall of Hell, when Daigo stepped in. He told Daigo that anyone who enters here was ready to cast away Buddha in favor of the demons. Even though he knew it was pointless at this point, he still tried to convince Daigo to not turn towards the path of evil. Seeing Daigo didn't care about the consequences, he tried to run but was cut from behind by him. In his final moments, the monk thanked Daigo for freeing him before the day he doubted Buddha would come.
