我妻由乃

Yuno Gasai (我妻 由乃, Gasai Yuno) is the main female protagonist of the Future Diary series. She is the Second in the Survival Game and she is the owner of the "Yukiteru Diary/Diary of Future Love". She is obsessed with Yukiteru Amano, the main male protagonist of the story. He is her love interest.

天野雪輝

Yukiteru "Yukki" Amano (天野 雪輝, Amano Yukiteru) is the main male protagonist of the Future Diary series. He is the First Diary Holder and in possession of the "Observance/Indiscriminate Diary", also called as the "Random Diary" in the anime. He is the love interest of Yuno Gasai in the Future Diary series and Aru Akise in Future Diary: Paradox (a side story in a separate timeline).

春日野椿

Tsubaki is a slender, attractive girl with red eyes; her irises have a dull luster to represent her poor vision. She has long dark blue hair; some of it is pinned up with a red butterfly-shaped hairpiece or ribbon, while the rest hangs loose, partly covering the right side of her face and reaching her hips in the back. She wears a red-orange kimono tied at the waist by a thick white ribbon.

Mao Nonosaka (野々坂 まお, Nonosaka Mao) is one of Yukiteru Amano's friends at his new school who owns an apprentice diary, "Hinata Love Diary".

ジョン・バックス

John Bacchus (ジョン バックス, Jon Bakkusu, John Balks in the English dub) is the Eleventh diary owner, and the final owner revealed in the series. The Mayor of Sakurami City, John Bacchus is the actual creator of the Future Diaries technology and suggested the concept of the survival game to Deus Ex Machina. He put the first Future Diaries together to create his own "Watcher Diary".

月島狩人

Karyuudo Tsukishima (月島 狩人, Tsukishima Karyūdo) is the Tenth diary owner. A lover of dogs, Tsukishima runs a kennel home and breeds dogs, however, he has also trained them to attack and kill people. His diary is the "Breeder Diary". He is the father of Hinata Hino.

我妻西果

Saika Gasai (我妻 西果, Gasai Saika) is the adoptive mother of Yuno Gasai and the wife of Ushio Gasai. A minor character with major relevance, she serves as the direct cause of Yuno's descent into insanity.

船津

Funatsu (船津, Funatsu) is the second in command of the Omekata Cult led by The Sixth, Tsubaki Kasugano. Serving as a minor villain, he himself appears little in the series, but played a crucial role by twisting Tsubaki and Reisuke Houjou to the point of insanity. He appears in Future Diary: Paradox, serving as a secondary villain to Aru Akise and Tsubaki.

我妻潮

Ushio Gasai (我妻 潮, Gasai Ushio) is the adoptive father of Yuno Gasai and the husband of Saika Gasai. A minor character with major importance, he serves as an indirect cause for Yuno's descent into insanity.
