シロ

Shiro (シロ, Shiro) is a childhood friend of Ganta Igarashi and Hagire Rinichirō's adopted daughter. Sorae Igarashi and Hagire experimented on her in order to gain insight in how to heighten a person's immune system.

千地清正

Kiyomasa Senji (千地 清正, Senji Kiyomasa), a.k.a. Crow, is a former police officer and one of the major supporting characters in the series. He is a Deadman previously imprisoned in Deadman Wonderland. He has trained Ganta and helped him on multiple occasions.

五十嵐丸太

Ganta Igarashi (五十嵐 丸太, Igarashi Ganta) a.k.a Woodpecker, is the main protagonist of the series. He is also the son of Sorae Igarashi and the childhood friend of Shiro. Because of his Deadman powers, he was sent to Deadman Wonderland. There, he swore vengeance on the "Red Man" for framing him for murdering his classmates.

Chan and En were born twins. With only half of their mind, they were left in a comatose state during the majority of their childhood. At some point after the Great Tokyo Earthquake, they ended up gaining a Branch of Sin and with it, they hacked into the medical monitors at their hospital and made it known that they were alive. Hagire Rinichirō soon adopted the two.

五十嵐 空絵

Sorae Igarashi (五十嵐 そらえ Igarashi Sorae) was a doctor and the mother of Ganta Igarashi who was involved in the development of the Wretched Egg as well as the Mother Goose System. She died by committing suicide as she couldn't bear the guilt of turning Shiro into a monster. In the anime, Ganta explains that ten years before being imprisoned in Deadman Wonderland, his mother had died.

藤吉（ふじよし）

Fujiyoshi (藤吉（ふじよし）, Fujiyoshi) is a Deadman and a former member of Scar Chain. He died during the Deadman mass prison break.

ミヤ

At some point in the past, Miya was imprisoned in Deadman Wonderland. Later, she joins a resistance faction within the prison known as Scar Chain.

若林

At some point in the past, Wakabayashi was imprisoned in Deadman Wonderland. Later, he joins a resistance faction within the prison known as Scar Chain. He lost his left leg at some point.
