The story is set at Shishidou, a school attended by rich and elite people. Tom Shirasagi, a gambler, is a mysterious new transfer student who has come from a public school (instead of a prestigious private one) and faces the elitist environment. There, he declares a challenge toward any student and claims he will bring to the ruin the whole school through a series of gambling matches. Nobody knows why he has come to that school or what the real motivations behind his actions are.
During any match, Tom shows off all of his unique coolness and ability.
He employs a wide range of tricks, both psychological and physical, to ensure his victory. In any game, you will constantly ask how he's planning to win, why he's really doing certain things, and what's really going on. At the end of the matches, the tricks are revealed, and they all work in real life, even if they do require one to be highly skilled or lucky in order to perform them.
The story centers around the various matches he undertakes and the interactions between the various characters, like Mika Shishidou, the beautiful granddaughter of the school headmaster, who is highly intelligent but contemptuous and superb, or Abidani, the vampiric looking dorm superintendent and main villain (for now) in the series, who has a sadistic personality and whose goal is to make Tom leave his school (or to get him killed).
As the story unfolds, more about Tom's past is revealed, leading to unpredictable turns of events.

Behind this public challenge, Tomu's true goals are to learn the fate of his father, Yumeichirō Shirasagi, and recover the Shirasagi family heirloom known as the Twin Herons.
樹村菜摘
MAINNatsumi Kimura (樹村 菜摘, Kimura Natsumi) is one of the protagonists of Gamble Fish. She is a first year student at Shishidō Academy, the niece of former professional billiards player Tatsuhiko Kimura, the roommate of Yuka Tsukiyono, and one of Tomu Shirasagi's earliest supporters. She is known as Shishidō Academy's mascot idol and openly loves Tomu.
月夜野由佳
MAINYuka Tsukiyono (月夜野 由佳, Tsukiyono Yuka) is one of the protagonists of Gamble Fish. She is a student at Shishidō Academy, the daughter of a famous professional magician, the roommate of Natsumi Kimura, and a highly skilled magician who is initially sent by Reiji Abidani to defeat Tomu Shirasagi. After losing to Tomu in blackjack, she falls in love with him and becomes one of his main allies.
水原和樹
MAINKazuki Mizuhara (水原 和輝, Mizuhara Kazuki) is a student of Shishidō Academy, the class representative of Tomu's class, and the roommate and best friend of Tomu Shirasagi. Although he usually acts as a cautious supporter rather than a frontline gambler, he becomes one of Tomu's most trusted allies and later reveals hidden talent in poker.
朝比奈里緒
SUPPORTINGRio Asahina (朝比奈 里緒, Asahina Rio) is a major supporting character in Gamble Fish. She is Mika Shishidō's best friend, the captain of Shishidō Academy's billiards club, a sports scholarship student, a consecutive Japan Women's Open champion, and the world junior billiards champion. She first opposes Tomu Shirasagi in a 4.8 million yen nine ball match, but later reconciles with him and becomes one of his allies.
