MAINGanta Nakami (中見 丸太, Nakami Ganta) is the male protagonist of the Insomniacs After School series. He is the head of the Astronomy Club at Kuyo high school. He has extreme separation anxiety which caused him to develop insomnia, causing him to be grumpy and overall misunderstood by his peers. His insomnia was caused by his mother leaving him and his father, without warning, in the middle of the night. After meeting Isaki Magari in the astronomical observatory (Astronomy Club room), he started astrophotography with a camera bought by her father at Christmas as an activity of the Astronomy Club. During regular school hours in which the two don't meet up, they don't interact.
