Jun is a passionate climber with sharp determination and competitive fervor. Ever since engaging in climbing during her childhood she has deemed the sport to be her everything, as she has practiced it relentlessly. Her love for the sport runs very deep, sometimes to unhealthy degrees, as she tends to lash at others thinking they don't take climbing seriously enough, or drive them away as she's not as aware of certain popular trends.

Sayo is a young girl with long waist-length orange hair and blue eyes. She is taller than the average girl and her body is also more developed than some of her peers. Her main outfits consist of the climbing team uniform as well as her school uniform.

Nonoka and Sayo Yotsuba head towards the Climbing Club and Nonoka comments that today the new students enroll and wants to look majestic as first contact matters. They see that a crowd had gathered and Nonoka thinks Jun Uehara is showing her skills again. But to their surprise, a new girl is climbing. Jun is surprised that a beginner with such thin arms could take an intermediate route, but Sayo explains that not only strength matters, but also grip, eyesight and inner sensitivity. As Konomi Kasahara attempts a lunge and fails, she wants to try again, but Sayo tells her to take a rest and after introducing herself, she welcomes her to the Climbing Club.

Chinari Iwamine (岩峰 一愛, Iwamine Chinari) is a character of Hang On! Climbing Girls. She is Kurikawa High's Ace and climber who ranked 2nd nationwide.

来栖アンネ

Anne is an upbeat, sociable and cheerful idol who is very popular because of her skills and her outgoing personality. She says "Cool, Kurusu!" often, as a winning catchphrase or as a simple sentence. Her friendly demeanor, is however, a farce, in truth she is malicious, narcissistic, cruel and looks down on others being able to lob very nasty remarks to her competitors on private despite being polite and respectful to them in public.

At the Kanto Bouldering Championship, she manages to pass the prelims and finishes seventh in the semifinals, failing to reach the finals. Seeing that her captain, Masumi Fujita, disappointed at herself for getting fifth place, Rina and the rest of the team support Masumi, who then comes out and wins the championship.
