JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Part 7–Steel Ball Run

ユリウス・カエサル・ツェペリ

Gyro has a cocky and flamboyant personality, appearing to have a high opinion of himself. However, he can be driven by emotions for other people and become realistic and serious when a problem presents itself. Like most Manga archetypes, Gyro is incredibly intelligent when he needs to be. His most distinguishable body features are his long hair, western hat and his gold teeth which have "GO! GO! ZEPPELI" displayed on them, revealed whenever he smiles at someone. His signature laugh/chuckle is "Nyo ho ho ho~". ~!Note that the "Caesar" in his name is pronounced in the traditional Greek way, more akin to the German "Kaiser". This is distinct from [Caesar Anthonio Zeppeli](https://anilist.co/character/21959/Zeppeli-Anthonio-Caesar) from [JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 2](https://anilist.co/manga/31630/-/), whose name is pronounced in the modern English way.!~

ジョニィ・ジョースター

Johnny Joestar is an American former jockey turned paraplegic, and is the main protagonist of Part 7. He is a depressive man with a bleak outlook on life, but he is also very stubborn and capable of extreme, unwavering determination to the point of disregarding any risks or consequences, putting his goal above all else. He joins the Steel Ball Run race to find out the secret behind [Gyro Zeppeli's](https://anilist.co/character/11772) steel balls, as Johnny believes they're capable of healing his legs. Johnny was once a horse racing prodigy. However, when waiting in line for a play, the girl he was with convinced him to cut to the front of the line and bribe the bouncers to throw out the youth in the front of the line, who had been waiting there all night. Furious, the youth shot Johnny in the back, paralyzing him from the waist down. ~!Johnny earns a Stand named "Tusk" when they venture into the Devil's Palm as a result of their fight with [Dio](https://anilist.co/character/20148/Brando-Diego) and [Dr. Ferdinand](https://anilist.co/character/130205/Ferdinand-Hakase). Tusk is able to fire Johnny's spinning fingernails similar to a revolver, with the nails having to take a few seconds to regrow. This long range attack becomes his primary means of defense. His Stand is small in size and has the same star-pattern over it as on Johnny's clothing, it appears to reside inside of him and only comes out to offer advice. It cannot speak, only make animal-like noises. Later in the series, Johnny masters Gyro's "Spin" technique and uses it with his Stand's fingernail bullets; at one time, even being able to use it on himself. His Stand also evolves although remaining similar in appearance, now able to fire from the toenails on Johnny's paralyzed feet. !~

ファニー・ヴァレンタイン

Funny Valentine is the 23rd President of the United States, and the main antagonist of Steel Ball Run. He is the true mastermind behind the Steel Ball Run race. He watches the competition from behind the curtains and hopes to gather the Saint's Corpse to use the Holy Relic to further the United States of America's interests and power, and explains that his way to do that is by "taking the first napkin". Valentine has a lot of importance for patriotism and seems to care about his country. Most of his bad deeds are not selfishly centered, but instead are done in order to achieve what he thinks is power for America, and to follow his goal of making America the most dominant country. ~!Valentine is a Stand User. Valentine's Stand, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap (D4C), enables him access at any time to any number of alternate worlds/universes/dimensions; where if desired he may swap bodies with his counterparts, granting him pseudo-immortality. However, to activate said effect, Valentine must get caught between two objects (for example, a flag and the ground or a sofa and the wall). This limits D4C's ability but not by much since he has gotten caught between water and the bottom of the ocean as a method of using his ability before. Valentine mostly uses an American Flag as his signature, and to active D4C's ability. He also has scars on his back resembling the old American Flag, as a result from him being tortured as a soldier.!~

ディエゴ・ブランドー

Diego Brando (usually called "Dio" for short) is a famous professional jockey from England. He is one of the participants in the Steel Ball Run race. Although unrelated to his DIO counterpart directly (parts 1-6 and 7-9 take place in two distinct, separate universes), he appears to be very similar to the original Dio in both looks and personality. ~!He was raised among a group of homeless people after his mother saved him from drowning in a river when he was still a baby. He was later adopted into nobility when his talent as a jockey was discovered. Although he was raised with much love, he acts cold-hearted and will do virtually anything to win.!~

ルーシー・スティール

Lucy Steel is the wife of Steven Steel, the organizer of the Steel Ball Run race. Lucy is a kind, intelligent, and gentle girl who is extremely loyal to her husband. Although she appears nervous and meek, Lucy is incredibly courageous, resourceful, and determined. ~!Lucy's involvement with the story truly begins when Funny Valentine is introduced. Lucy finds out that Funny Valentine plans to gather the bones of "The Saint" for his own needs and also kill Steven Steel. Lucy goes to great lengths to prevent this from happening.!~ ~!Later on, Lucy teams up with Hot Pants to steal back the heart of Jesus's corpse from the president. Lucy disguises herself as the president's wife, but she is captured by Valentine, and is chosen by the corpse to be its user. This turns Lucy into an artificial Stand user that allows her to use its "holy field" ability that Valentine plans to use to become the leader of the world.!~

サウンドマン

Sandman is a participant in the Steel Ball Run race from a Native American tribe. Despite being ostracized, he hopes that winning the race will earn him the money to buy back his ancestor's land, and he quickly becomes one of the fiercest competitors in the race thanks to his running technique. ~!Sandman is a Stand User who wields In a Silent Way in battle, which can store sounds in objects or even people.!~

A young man who participates in the Steel Ball Run race, known for his incredible luck due to his stand's power.

ブラックモア

Blackmore is one of [Valentine](https://anilist.co/character/20147/Funny-Valentine)'s loyal men, and an especially skilled assassin. His mission is to recover the Saint Corpse Parts that [Johnny](https://anilist.co/character/19492/Johnny-Joestar) and [Gyro](https://anilist.co/character/11772/Gyro-Zeppeli) had so far collected. His stand, Catch the Rainbow, allows Blackmore to manipulate rain, including by halting falling drops, making them into threatening obstacles or a path he may cross in air; and relocating functioning parts of/or his entire body with their moving touch and force.

ウェカピポ

Wekapipo is an exiled Neapolitan and a practitioner of the Spin. He wields a special type of steel ball called Wrecking Ball. After serving as a royal guard for the Kingdom of Naples, Wekapipo was forced into exile and later entered the service of the current President of the United States, Funny Valentine. He, alongside Magent Magent, become amongst those sent to assassinate Johnny Joestar and Gyro Zeppeli for possession of the Saint's Corpse. He now works with the President to get the corpse parts and kill Gyro and Johnny in return for citizenship and residence in the United States, as well as a high ranking position in the government.

Andre Boom Boom is a minor antagonist from Part VII: Steel Ball Run and part of the Boom Boom Family. Andre appears as a boy in his early twenties and his most peculiar physical character are the freckles that cover his face. He has the odd abilities to make his nostrils flat and put his whole ear in his ear hole.
