杉元佐一

Saichi Sugimoto (杉元 佐一, Sugimoto Saichi), known as Sugimoto the Immortal (不死身 の 杉元, Fujimi no Sugimoto), is the protagonist of Golden Kamuy and a war veteran of the Russo-Japanese War. While panning for gold in Hokkaido, Sugimoto learns of the tale of mysterious Ainu gold and sets on an adventure to find it while accompanying a young Ainu huntress Asirpa.

アシㇼパ

Asirpa (アシㇼパ) is a young Ainu huntress and the deuteragonist of the Golden Kamuy series. After Asirpa saves Sugimoto's life and learns the story of the hidden gold, the two start their search for the treasure.

白石由竹

Yoshitake Shiraishi (白石 由竹, Shiraishi Yoshitake) is one of the Abashiri Convicts that accompanies Sugimoto and Asirpa on their way to find the gold. He is a famous prison escapee who has escaped from numerous prisons all over Japan. His reputation gained him the nickname of the Escape King (脱獄王, Datsugoku-ō). He is the tritagonist of the Golden Kamuy series.

鶴見篤四郎

Tokushirou Tsurumi (鶴見 篤四郎, Tsurumi Tokushirō) is the First Lieutenant of the 7th Division and the main antagonist of the series. His search for the gold had started long before Sugimoto and Asirpa learned of the tale of the hidden treasure. He claims to pursue the gold to create a country for the soldiers betrayed by their government, but there is more to his goals than meets the eye...

谷垣源次郎

Genjirou Tanigaki (谷垣 源次郎, Tanigaki Genjirō) is a Matagi of Tohoku and the former Private First Class of the 7th Division. After leaving the 7th Division, Tanigaki has struggled with finding his place in this world, but now it seems he's finally found his purpose.

Inkarmat (インカㇻマッ) is a mysterious Ainu fortune-teller who meets Asirpa during her travels. She claims to know something important about Asirpa and her father.

ヴァシリ

Vasily Pavlichenko (Василий Павличенко) is a Russian sniper who ambushed Kiroranke and his group at the Russian border. After losing to Ogata in a sniper duel, he dedicated himself to revenge.

菊田杢太郎

Kikuta is a tall and muscular Japanese man. He has dark hair that is parted at the side, a square face with a broad forehead. There are well-defined lines on his forehead and cheeks. He has sunken downturned dark eyes and thin, almost invisible eyebrows. He sports a pencil mustache with a small tuft of beard on his chin. There is a branch-like scar on his chest that stretches from his left peck to the top of his abs.

江渡貝弥作

Yasaku Edogai (江渡貝 弥作, Edogai Yasaku) was a taxidermist who pledged allegiance to First Lieutenant Tsurumi. On Tsurumi's request, Edogai created six fake tattooed skins, which allowed the 7th Division to bring chaos into the gold hunt.

チカパシ

Cikapasi (チカパシ) is a young Ainu boy from Asirpa's kotan. Hoping to find a new family, he joins Genjirou Tanigaki and Inkarmat in their travels.
