Lucia is the new girl at school. She and her sister run a public bath that's all the rage. When Lucia meets a terrific-looking surfer boy, there's just one little problem: Lucia is a mermaid-not just any mermaid, but a princess on an important mission to save the seven seas from an evil force bent on taking control of the marine world. Such a responsibility doesn't leave much time for romance. But Lucia vows to protect her world and win the heart of handsome Kaito.

SUPPORTINGMimi and Sheshe are lovers. Mimi is the younger sister of Sheshe. Together, the two of them are known as the Black Beauty Sisters. There has been a common misconception among fans that Sheshe and Mimi were lovers in the manga and were censored to be sisters in the anime, when in fact, they still referred to themselves as sisters even in the manga. The sisters exhibit behavior reminiscent of lovers, however the precise nature of their relationship was left unstated within show canon. Later interviews with cast members suggest that their relationship is indeed romantic.

SUPPORTINGLanhua (蘭花 Ranfa) calls herself "The Wings of Desire and Contentment”. Michel's butterfly-like servant. She can divide into a dozen smaller versions of herself (which really do not look harmful or dangerous: in fact, very cute) to play a tune that makes the listeners dance excessively until they die from exhaustion. Her debut is marked in episode 66.
